True in one sense but we could of had a second one with the Tiote challenge on Silva.
Not actually convinced that was a pen, though it was a better shout than the one we actually got! Still, we've had more than our fair share of shocking decisions down the years so I won't refuse the odd iffy one now!

I may not be exactly impartial when I'm watching City (silly me).
We've had our share of poor decisions in our time, when I watched in real time I thought "defo pen". ;-)
Lescott maybe a bit lucky, maybe he got some leeway because it didn't look like they would get anything from that position.
Just enjoying the ride, fellow blues.
You're allowed to be biased. We all are!! I'm just trying to see things impartially (not always the easiest thing to do!).

Absolutely!

Hopefully Ben Arfa will make a good recovery,i believe its his Tib and Fib,not good...... Best wishes.

Agreed, hope he's OK. I didn't really see the challenge (dodgy stream for the first 10 minutes), is Nige in trouble?
I doubt it. There will be people calling for something; some have had it in for him since the world cup final. I've seen it and from what I saw it was a strong tackle, but it wasn't De Jong's studs that did the damage, it was his knees that crashed into the side of Ben Afra's leg and because his foot was on the ground it jarred.

De Jong = piggin liability!

Like the rest of us,can't imagine he's too complimentary about you....

Total halfwit.

Can total and half be used in the same description? Doesn't seem to make any sense, much like your assumption that you speak for the rest of the planet. De Jong is a mentalist who adds very little value to our midfield (which is slow, ploddy and lacking ideas). I suggest that you're a dim wit masquerading as a half wit!
Our team is living off the performances of a few players who are doing the business, De Jong aint one of them.

Fucking brilliant result.

Not that some of you moaning gits deserve it.

Reading some of your posts at half time you'd think we were getting battered.

We were.

We couldn't string 2 passes together, let alone keep hold of the ball and boss the game.

Still, we won - let's move on and try not to play like that again in a hurry.

and just a few weeks ago we praised DJ for being a rock.

Many variables played into that tackle today. Arfa was just unlucky to have his leg in that precarious position.

You are a rag, right? Obviously.

Probably one of our top 5 best players and you come out with that? Unbelievable.

Yup, on both counts.

There were numerous times today where De Jong cut out a dangerous move from Newcastle. I think we'd have been punished today if he hadn't been on the pitch.

We lacked pace in the first half, understandably because most performed 48 hours earlier.Mancinis substitutions with Ade and Johnston,(who in 18 minutes earned Man of the match) changed the whole game. Both players brought some refreshing vitality to the attack which was looking a bit dull with the lone tevez becoming increasingly frustrated. No complaints from me,on our performance.Came out of the ground with the sun shining and delighted with the 3 points.

De Jong is a hell of a player: strong, intelligent and a wonderful reader of a game. As a defensive midfielder he's shown himself to be one of the best around - if he became available it would be the European big guns who would be after him.

However, he does have an issue with, shall we say, overzealousness. He can go in a little too hard and this spoils his reputation. Unfortunately he chose the World Cup final to produce his most reckless challenge - and let's be honest, here, that was outrageous - and today's tackle didn't look good.

We have to be honest with ourselves and ask what would our reaction be if these challenges had been on our players? You decide.
