City v Rags - Derby Day!!!

I have never heard anyone call them rags in real life.

Every single person I know .. all proper mancs .. calls them rags

Never confident with a derby, even less so with the form we’re in. They are fucking awful though so it’ll come down to whether we want it or not. I’d like to see Grealish, Foden and Kev, although I’m not sure he’d start Foden, with hopefully kovacic. I think Doku has to play too. He’s like a dog driving a car, absolutely no idea what’s going on but his ability to get past his man and his unpredictability will give them plenty to think about.

Haaland will play, but if he’s a passenger and isn’t involved he’s got to come off and we can put more legs in the middle.

If we play the same tactics as we did at times against forest we should be good. If we play sideways and backwards and think that arsing around with it on the edge of their box will win us the game then we could get nailed. They’ll play on the counter and it’ll work if we’re not on it.

I honestly didn’t know there was a specific reason they were called rags, I just took it to be a generic insult meaning dirty scruffy horrible scumbags.

Regardless, for as long as I can remember we’ve referred to them as rags in my family and I’ve heard the term used countless times at the match

Don’t believe everything you read on here. Bluemoon has never been a particularly accurate sample of blues IMHO.

The reason being that rags isn't a particularly abusive term just one that conveys mild derision. Songs sung at / about them usually have a nastier edge to them and so different terms are used.

That said, i suspect you haven't sung a City song in your entire life

Not really heard the term until I came on here. A bit like them supposedly calling us 'Berts'. Never ever heard that in real life as well. Think it's an internet thing...
