City v Shakhtar Post Match

It was a decent game, we were a bit wasteful in front of goal and should have scored more than we did. That pass David Silva played to Aguero was sublime. The new keeper looks quality, I thought Stones & Delph were good, Fernandinho had a great game too. Ginger Kev & Sane in great form. I think B Silva will be a top player for us he looked lively when he came on and his pass for the second goal was perfect.

Let's hope we carry on the good form on Saturday.

I think something that's really important in the CL is that we're playing with a bit more maturity than we used to.

It helps that particularly 'immature' players of yesteryear like Stones and Sterling have really upped it recently, but compared to last year we're so far playing with a bit more authority and level-headedness. Maybe it's experience. Maybe it's the Pep effect. Or maybe it's Maybelline.

Went to the match last night (CL scheme) and watched all the highlights tonight. Right - you have Sergio - most prolific goalscorer in Prem history in terms of minutes on the pitch - been doing it for six years. He also has a monumental scoring record in all Europe competitions. So why is he mentioned by the pundits on BT and and ITV etc as somehow inferior to Kane (top striker but yet to deliver consistently for England), and Lukaku ? Ok, Costa's pretty unpopular, but I remember him saying last season that Sergio's the top Prem striker. Same with David - head and shoulders the best player in the Prem. Kevin's chance creation is awesome, but David's been doing it for six years. Btw, watching the replay of David setting up Kevin for that missile launch of a shot was amazing.

Why do you worry what pundits say? The players are very well paid by the people who appreciate what they do in the field and when that is good enough as a team, they will earn the trophies that come from that.

It is ridiculous that a player like David Silva is routinely dismissed by pundits, but then they actually sit and watch a game and he is suddenly a great player....and this of a player who has won nearly EVERYTHING!

Aguero: Scores for fun every year, yet can't get into a Premier League XI!

This is the life of Manchester City players and the media. Everyone in the media believes City have simply bought whatever success they have and the players get dinged by that. Guess what, I doubt ANY of them care nearly as much as you do. I sometimes think fans don't understand the motivation and mindset of professional athletes. They don't like the pissants any more than you do, but they definitely care less about them.

Get up, eat with the wife and kids, get the kids off to school, go to training, do some hard work and have some fun, eat, go home and relax or to the club event of the day, play with the kids, have dinner, put the kids to bed, enjoy some time with the wag, get a good nights sleep. Lather, rinse, repeat!

It seems obvious to me that Pep is not always best pleased with our fanbase, the booing, the leaving early, the lack of engagement at times. Let's hope it doesn't sway him when discussing a contract extension. At the very minimum, the booing has got to stop. If there was justification for it in the past, that boat has long since sailed.
Totally agree, we made our point and there has been no agenda against us recently despite that idiot Gill still being part of the Uefa board. Needs to be stopped, the fact fans are there indicates they embrace the tournament, my mate doesn't like it so he doesn't go, his choice but we have seen some great games, great players and tremendous opposition in the CL, time to stop the booing.

A good result which should have been better if not for missed chances in the 2nd half.

The interplay between Bernardo Silva and Sterling for our 2nd goal was sublime - and this from 2 substitutes! Our squad is hugely talented and extremely deep in attack (though I wish we were deeper at CB). Delph was a pleasant surprise, playing exceedingly well at LB - we have more cover at fullback than I thought we did.

Didn't they recently change the co-efficient system to aid the likes of Pool and the Scum?

Spanish Dave seems to be starting too far forward, too soon, in the first half of recent games; often he is the man pressing the keeper, when they are dealing with back passes

As the game goes on, he drops deeper and becomes far more influential
