City V Sheff Wed (LC) Post match Thread

Not sure why we put B squad out their think we should of had our C squad. But happy to get the win at least hope we can retain the title. Although I would like to bring back that FA CUP. I think the EDS(U21) team could have won against Sheffield Wednesday but nice to see a EDS player get a debut goal. Get In Jose Pozo.

There is more than a touch of arrogance about this post.

On the first-half showing, a weaker team might have lost. It was only once we scored that Wednesday collapsed.

And Pellegrini has obviously learnt from Wigan lady season.

The wwywyws song only came from us when your lot were singing 3 0 in your cup final, seems a few of your fans have already forgotten where you were not that long ago

Rubbish. It was first heard at 0-0 and repeated later. It's the same song thrown at us by every set of fans (except Chelsea and United, maybe a few others) and is now met with either ambivalence or "We were here when we were shit".
and when a few of their ...ahem... "mob" were giving it the big un walking through city square before the game. embarrassing.

They averaged 17k in the 3rd division compared to 28k when we were in it. It's pretty clear where we were when we were shit; following our team unlike they were. I thought they had a disproportionate amount of wankers in their end, very reminiscent of Leeds.

It seemed like all their fans walking up ANR and round the ground were very drunk, some of them acting like wankers too. Don't want any of the Yorkshire inbreds back in the PL.

Fans of clubs like Wednesday and Leeds are like Walter White was when he was invited to his former business partners' house in Breaking Bad. They cast an envious eye at what they see, think it should have been theirs instead, and after a few drinks start to get bitter and angry.

It's a perfectly understandable reaction.

Please refrain from Breaking Bad references. I'm only on Series 3.

Thank you

I think it was a patient showing by the lads, it shows that a game of football is 90 minutes long (or 98 if your manager is a scots piss can)

Sheffield were playing a high line against us, chasing the ball and closing down space in the first half, making it hard for us to get any kind of tempo. And that was their problem, they are a side of pretty big lads, and there was no way they could maintain that kind of tempo for the 90 minutes, and would run out of gas in the 2nd half. They slowed up, spaces appeared, we moved into 2nd gear. Some great finishing as well, though I thought we did waste a few opportunities. A bit more clinical, and genuinely without being arrogant, that could easily have been double figures...
