City V Southampton post match discussion

Not enough posts to begin new thread so here goes:

Dzeko? Is there anyone left who thinks he's good enough for us? FIVE chances and he only converts one. No pace and clearly couldn't read the game. How many times did he stumble over the ball or delay an attack?
Stuck up for him when he arrived, great lad, but not good enough.

Tickets: Believe there were some problems which may explain the few empty seats, shame if that is the case. My daughter's and mine both worked. If epople missed the game becuase of this, hope they will be rewarded by club in some way.

Nasri: AT last, is the real Nasri about to emerge? Wonderful skill, great goal.

First game of the season, we were poor, but still won. Let's not forget how far we've come. If the 'moaners' near me carry on the way they were today when we went 1-2 down we may have a problem...

Not convincing but not overly concerning. Silva and Vinny were woeful I thought. Vinny jumped in like 3 times and got it completely wrong. 3 points is all that matters though, onwards and upwards

-- Sun Aug 19, 2012 8:22 pm --

Samir was absolutely immense, love that guy when he's on it

A member of the crowd was upset that we were losing?

Fucking hell, stop the presses.

It's how he went about it though.

I was laughing when they went in front, disbelief that we were being fucked, but I found it funny as the away fans were having a party.

Even the more sweeter when we went back infront.

To be honest mate, City where poor for large parts of the game today.. i thought a few looked well off the pace.. id rather someone who over racts from time to time than a happy clapper any day...

No way. Were you there?

Silva's new Tweet gave me a laugh.

David Silva ‏@21LVA
Important victory today, what an awful penalty, the important thing is the 3 points and getting back to full match fitness, thank you

Wow, a bosnian news portal just published that preliminary diagnosis on Kun is collateral ligament rupture and that he might be out for 6 months...??

I'd post the link but its not in English...fuck if thats true.

Either that, or a very elaborate practical joke... it seemed so real.

But yeah we looked like a team clinging on in large parts and got hit on the break twice... it wasnt like we let them have two goals for turning up ?

Some precious flowers on here acting like they wouldnt be over the moon if Rooney or RvP went down with a knee injury. Not condoning their fans being dicks about it, but its football FFS not knitting.

Soton deserve credit for the way they played, just glad we got the points.

I've been going to football for 33 years. Whenever a player gets stretchered off with a serious injury, the vast majority of people applaud the player off the pitch. That's what genuine football fans do.

The Southampton fans were a disgrace today. Not one of them had the decency to applaud and hundreds cheered or offered hand signals.

I have never had a beef with Southampton before. I sincerely hope they get relegated courtesy of a heartbreaking last minute goal now.

Our home form is misleading. Three of the last four games have been against mediocre opposition and we've scraped wins or draws against them. Sunderland 3-3 (outplayed for much of it), Rags 1-0 (admittedly a fine performance), QPR 3-2 (all over the place to be honest but divine intervention saw us over the line) and today 3-2. Where's the composure to see out games, keep the ball, frustrate the opposition, pick them off ?

Today was as good a fixture as you could wish for to start off the new season and we just couldn't keep the ball second half having missed countless chances. Against better opposition or in the CL we won't be so lucky. I hope they learned from that nail biter today.
