City V Southampton post match discussion

Re: Congratulations Southampton

Their fans are still complete wankers, and tbh we should've finished them off before their comeback. Having said that, credit to them for coming back the way they did, they'll cause a few teams a fair bit of worry this year.

Some precious flowers on here acting like they wouldnt be over the moon if Rooney or RvP went down with a knee injury. Not condoning their fans being dicks about it, but its football FFS not knitting.

Soton deserve credit for the way they played, just glad we got the points.

I'd expect any teams supporters to cheer at their nearest rivals in that situation us v the rags or saints v pompey but when there's little or no history of bad blood between clubs whats the fucking point, what does it again. Especially when everyones banging on about the fucking Olympics all the time ;-)

Spot on. And if it was a rag stretched off infront of us I'm sure majority of our fans would clap as It's good sportsmanship to do so. At first I understood why they boo'd as anyone clubs fans would do, but when the player is being stretched off I'd of thought they'd show a little bit of class. Their fans were a disgrace and I hope to god they get relegated. Highest ever attendance they have had was last season cos they got promoted, bunch of gloryhunting knobs, where were they when they were shit eh!

first game in PL for 7 years and hundreds of empty seats, shit fans

To be honest mate, City where poor for large parts of the game today.. i thought a few looked well off the pace.. id rather someone who over racts from time to time than a happy clapper any day...

No way. Were you there?

Either that, or a very elaborate practical joke... it seemed so real.

But yeah we looked like a team clinging on in large parts and got hit on the break twice... it wasnt like we let them have two goals for turning up ?

we should have been out of sight ages before Southampton got back into it.

Re: Congratulations Southampton

Class less cunts sat with a lad from bournemouth train back tonight give him them stick, Allan your a top bloke see you at the next match got a ticket for that

Re: Congratulations Southampton

Fair points gents, it has always been the done thing to clap an injured player off, even a rag one ;)

Not sure why they booed etc, dont really care what they did tbh as long as Sergio is alright *crosses fingers*

We need to be more clinical, end of. The amount of chances we create then waste is crazy, we should be breaking goal scoring records. Eez important that we improve in this.

Re: Congratulations Southampton

Unless they continue their good home form of the last year or so, I think that Southampton will go down.
I know it's early days and it's a marathon and not a sprint etc etc but, well, I've seen enough relegation fodder to last me a lifetime - and unfortunately for Saints, they reek of it.
The first game up is always something of a cup final for a promoted team - and despite a raft of things going their way against a lacklustre City side, they were beaten, not once but twice, on the day.
They'll play good football and they'll surprise one or two (maybe even us at St Mary's, if we're not careful) but, by and large, they'll probably wind up like Burnley & Blackpool before them - patronised to within an inch of their lives by the pundits ("Oooh, they're a breath of fresh air, Gary!") but ultimately doomed to relegation.
Sorry, if you're a Saints fan, reading this. If it's any consolation, I've been wrong before. I'd be delighted to be proven wrong - I've no great axe to grind with Spouthampton, just offering an opinion (unwelcome as it may be!) - I suspect I won't be proven wrong, though..
