City V Southampton post match discussion

I'll add my view on the game,

I thought we looked a little shaky at the back. The 3-5-2 formation suites us a lot better. Nasri was class today. Silva not so good.

Overall we won whilst not be playing well which is what we need to be doing if we are to win the league again.

Now for Liverpool away!

Overuled corner decision following tv replay?

What annoyed me is the fact that some idiot who has control of what goes on the screen decided to show this. WHY!?

Unless they continue their good home form of the last year or so, I think that Southampton will go down.
I know it's early days and it's a marathon and not a sprint etc etc but, well, I've seen enough relegation fodder to last me a lifetime - and unfortunately for Saints, they reek of it.
The first game up is always something of a cup final for a promoted team - and despite a raft of things going their way against a lacklustre City side, they were beaten, not once but twice, on the day.
They'll play good football and they'll surprise one or two (maybe even us at St Mary's, if we're not careful) but, by and large, they'll probably wind up like Burnley & Blackpool before them - patronised to within an inch of their lives by the pundits ("Oooh, they're a breath of fresh air, Gary!") but ultimately doomed to relegation.
Sorry, if you're a Saints fan, reading this. If it's any consolation, I've been wrong before. I'd be delighted to be proven wrong - I've no great axe to grind with Spouthampton, just offering an opinion (unwelcome as it may be!) - I suspect I won't be proven wrong, though..

Yep a good post and most of it is true.

can blues have a reality check please.

we had people before the game saying we will win 7-0, people putting money on 6-1 etc...

people thinking we will walk the league without any new signings

we aren't as good as many believe. we looked the same as we have since xmas, we have struggled to break teams down and kill games off. we absolutely need to improve and sign new players, and our squad is very thin.

please no more 'we score when we want' or any of that rubbish, lets not become rags.

Are you being serious? What utter shite! Squad very thin? Did you see our bench today? Team's in the PL would love to have that kind of bench! This is just a kneejerk reaction from the saints game! It was the first game of the season and we was rusty! first time we have had all the team together during pre season and a new system that bobby tried out.

Chill out!

Re: Congratulations Southampton

I am really shocked at some of the arrogant/hypocritical posts in this thread. They played well, end of....

Re: Congratulations Southampton

Did they play well or was we just that bad that we made them look well good?

A mixture of both.
