As a team we have so many gears its untrue and yesterday we saw a City performance that for the majority of the game, we hardly moved out of second gear.

Why?

Because we didn't have too that's why.
I hate this kind of shit, it's exactly that kind of attitude that's going to cost us. Last week 1 up thought we could coast it and drew, yesterday 1 up thought we could coast even though we could all see their equaliser coming and even at 1-1 they continued to be much the better team and only a terrible decision going our way got us going again. You might think it is great that our players think they can coast games becasue they are so superior, I think it's shit and it is the only thing that stops us being a genuinely world class team. The fact it took us 45 mintues to look interested is something to be concerned about not proud of imo.

To suggest we didn't look interested first half given the chances we missed and the 3 goals we scored is bewildering!?

First 5 minutes thought we looked on it, then very quickly I think we switched off and apart from the odd fleeting moment we were very poor until we got the lucky break. Too many sloppy, lazy passes, movement off the ball was non existant for long periods. The difference in our attitude in the second half was startling which tells me all I need to know about the attitudes of some players for much of the first half.

Three-one flattered us at the break but we were so much better in the second half that four-one didn't flatter us at the end and we really should have bumped up the goal difference by a few more.
Have I mentioned Chris Foy is a cock-womble? No, OK Chris Foy is a cock-womble.
And a big "FUCK OFF YOU TOSSERS" to those that couldn't be bothered today and to the many thousands who allowed some of the best players on the planet to perform in front of empty seats for the final five minutes. It finished 135 minutes earlier than usual so where the f*ck were you going that was so important?
As for BT Sport; obviously I didn't see their coverage but Liverpool's armchair support is probably five to ten times bigger than ours and them winning the league will generate significantly more viewers and therefore significantly more advertising revenue. Scouse wankers - the lot of 'em.

Back story 1st - family stand with a 8 year old , been stuck on the car park for a good 45 in the past so now get the tram in from Ashton now it's there, and usury leave 5 early to avoid the crush on the tram home rather then 10 early when take the car.... Stayed till the end today for once as was planing on going to watch the national at our kids pub which is local, ... So no rush stayed till the end , clapped the team off, even let the rush go on the concourse , had a pee the slowly made my way to the car park, ... A full fkin hour it took from the car park to turning on to the main road and my car got a egg threw at it neat Asda by a couple of local Chavz .... Bk to Tram and 5 min early from now on... If all you leaving early moaners had to wait around for a hour then I'd guess you'd think b4 having a go... I'll admit I was shocked to see how empty the stadium was at full time as I'm usual eye gone by then...
Main road veteran and never left early unless we was getting a pasting from the likes of Crewe, walk down to Wimslow rd kebab mrs picks you up easy peasy, didn't mined killing a hour, but there's fk all round thee worth hanging about for...

Why park in the official car park, there's loads of unofficial car parks and off street parking within 10-15 mins walk. When I drive I either park by the Leigh Arms, or on one of the car parks off Bradford Rd, your 8 year old should be perfectly capable of the walk.

That's what it looked like, however when you look at the game in more detail, Southampton flooded the midfield, leaving them struggling to defend, hence the goals in quick succession, they changed that in the 2nd half but the damage was done, it was good attempt by them and made the 1st half seem more one sided than it actually was.

The Leigh is a hike, last time I parked there I ended up carrying the lad half way, was a couple of years bk. the official car park is convenient and close for kick off, but won't be using it again, And I'm assuming most car parks round there are the same, free for all poorly managed exit system to get out on to packed side roads like the ones iv used away in the past. I'll stick to leaving 5 min early then hope there no crush on the tram

Parked at the lowery last week for the rags and was surprised at how easy it was to get away.

There were many games under Mancini where the first half was lacklustre and they seemed transformed coming out of the tunnel a third time! I always wanted Mancini to give 'em the half time bollocking after the warm up!

First 5 mins we were great, pressed them high up the pitch and they hated it. Next 40 minutes we sat on our goal, invited them on and they were the better side. Score 2 in injury time, fortunately on the back of one of the worst offside decisions ever seen (thanks linesman). Second half they looked like a beaten team and it could have been anything. We need to play much much better next week.

Except we didn't "switch off" at all, Southampton were very good, and because of how our midfield was set up, they were able to dominate by pressing us hard, and we couldn't retain any possession.

Just checked on Google Earth. There's not much difference between the two journeys, so I don't see what your point is, apart from one being a "hike". I also park near the Legh Arms, but on the other side of the Old Road, next to the College (or whatever it's called now). A nice relaxing 20-25 minute stroll for me, and I walk slowly (I will be 64 next week), and I always leave after the final whistle.

I am in no way criticising what you do - each to their own, etc. For me, it's all part of the "matchday experience"!

As to the match, I said to the guy sitting next to me when the possession stats came up that Southampton reminded me of Swansea when they first came up. They ran around a lot, but had no cutting edge, and we should win quite comfortably. Their defence looked as if Corporal Jones (and I don't mean our gurning friend) was in charge - they didn't like it up 'em, and resorted to hoofball when we pressed, which wasn't as often as I would have liked. You can only get so far with those kind of tactics, unless you have the players to keep it up for 90 minutes.

Still, it's another 3 points. Now for the big one with our (ahem) biggest rivals.

Spot on. Far too many expect the perfect 90 min performance every week and forget that 1. it very very rarely happens and 2. there is 11 other players on the pitch doing everything they can to stop it.
