City v Southampton post match thread

Lallana came across as a proper whiney woman on motd. Suck it up son, it's not like it was won on a 1:0 penalty decision.
When we got a grip of the middle of the park in the second half a footballing lesson was administered.

Thought he was giving it back to the fans who had been moaning at one or two of his misplaced passes. Seemed a bit of venom in it.

Agree - I sit in that stand. It was deffo Kolarov giving a bit back to the crowd.
I was sat in the stand and didn't see one bit of venom in it, he just appeared to be trying to get the fans to be a little more vocal.

I was too far back to judge the meaning of his gestures but I wouldn't blame him for reacting to the fans, some of the groans and general negativity around him and Dzeko are ridiculous. Both very good players with some weaknesses in their game that are more than made up for by their strengths.

I thought the whole game and atmosphere was extremely dull today to be honest. Every game is a cup final now and if today is the indication of what's to come we need to step up as supporters as it's going to get more tense!!

You've hit a very crucial point right on the head. The team that controls the midfield 999 times out of 1000 will win.

At the Dippers we must control that midfield, cut off supply to their strikeforce, and then impose our superiority on them.

Another big win. Came out the gates flying again. But after the goal starting coasting, again. Dzeko was really good again. Silva has been brilliant. Can't recall the last time he wasn't amazing. Thought the Beast played well but clearly lacking confidence. On the plus side he's getting in scoring positions. Played what 20mns? And had 3 goal scoring opportunities. Once he gets 1 they will start flying in again. A little worried about Liverpool the way Southampton bossed the midfield. My man Fernandinho(pronounced Fer-nan-gene-yo) was a bit off the boil, but Garcia came in and played well again. Starting to become a trend.

I don't get all the nonsense about the game being won on the offside goal and how it changed the game. WTF? City won 4-1. If it was 2-1 then I'd agree, but come on.

Silva was amazing today. When you take into account that Southampton had their defence pushed up into midfield, City's midfield was outnumbered and keeping possession under great possession required great close control.

There was some great dribbles from Silva, none of which were covered by MOTD, but we all know how important he is to MCFC.

I think you're right about me being right Ed. You only have to look at the handful of games where we deserved to be on the losing side this season. Bayern ,Barca, Chelsea. We lost the battle in the middle crucially.

Three-one flattered us at the break but we were so much better in the second half that four-one didn't flatter us at the end and we really should have bumped up the goal difference by a few more.
Have I mentioned Chris Foy is a cock-womble? No, OK Chris Foy is a cock-womble.
And a big "FUCK OFF YOU TOSSERS" to those that couldn't be bothered today and to the many thousands who allowed some of the best players on the planet to perform in front of empty seats for the final five minutes. It finished 135 minutes earlier than usual so where the f*ck were you going that was so important?
As for BT Sport; obviously I didn't see their coverage but Liverpool's armchair support is probably five to ten times bigger than ours and them winning the league will generate significantly more viewers and therefore significantly more advertising revenue. Scouse wankers - the lot of 'em.

Back story 1st - family stand with a 8 year old , been stuck on the car park for a good 45 in the past so now get the tram in from Ashton now it's there, and usury leave 5 early to avoid the crush on the tram home rather then 10 early when take the car.... Stayed till the end today for once as was planing on going to watch the national at our kids pub which is local, ... So no rush stayed till the end , clapped the team off, even let the rush go on the concourse , had a pee the slowly made my way to the car park, ... A full fkin hour it took from the car park to turning on to the main road and my car got a egg threw at it neat Asda by a couple of local Chavz .... Bk to Tram and 5 min early from now on... If all you leaving early moaners had to wait around for a hour then I'd guess you'd think b4 having a go... I'll admit I was shocked to see how empty the stadium was at full time as I'm usual eye gone by then...
Main road veteran and never left early unless we was getting a pasting from the likes of Crewe, walk down to Wimslow rd kebab mrs picks you up easy peasy, didn't mined killing a hour, but there's fk all round thee worth hanging about for...
