CITY v Spuds - Official Match Thread

Thanks for all the replies thus far, lads. I really do appreciate you taking the time to answer the questions. Don't know why I wrote "weekend" in the post instead of "mid-week". Wasn't thinking I guess (normal Spurs fan, eh? :D )

Anyways, thanks again. Looking forward to the match of the season in a few days.

4-2 City :) Tevez x2, Bellamy and Ade. Crouch x2
then we only have to draw at west hamm for 4th

Re: Spurs Fan With Questions

Is Roberto Mancini the right manager to take Manchester City forward?

Yes, he's a winner. We're (Spurs too) in the driving seat for 4th with two games left of the season.

Who would you identify as City’s most improved player this season?

Vincent Kompany without a shadow of a doubt. Rock solid and will only get better.
Captain for me.

What do you think will be the lineup for City for the match?

Unchanged mostly, maybe Zabba and Barry slotting in for Bridge and Viera

What would you identify as City’s greatest strength as a club? The club’s greatest weakness?

Wealth!
Agree with another poster saying lack of patience, money brings the demand of success.

How do you feel about Carlos Tevez's remarks about leaving the club if there is no CL for Man City?

No player is bigger then the club.
If the comments are true, I suggest he spends his monstrous wages on lessons, on professionalism. (If City lose of course.. ;) )

Which Spurs player do you consider to be the biggest threat?
Modric/Lennon, very dangerous.

Who is your favorite City player? Who is your favorite Spurs player?

Big Vinny! Future skipper.
Modric, superb playmaker, what our midfield needs.

What do you think of Harry Redknapp as a manger?

A character
He's done very well, wherever he's been.

Some would say that, despite the money spent, City’s central defenders have been a bit of a disappointment. What is your opinion of this?

Earlier in the season I'd agree.. it's improved as a unit.

What are your thoughts over the emergency goalkeeper loan saga?

Totally justifiable, we didn't get a great keeper regardless.

Many fans remark that City’s spending habits represent everything that is wrong with football today. How do you feel about such a statement?

A bit hypocritical that.
Many clubs including Spurs are no strangers to spending

What is your prediction for the game?

1-0, 2-1 either way.
Hopefully ours.

Cheers.

biggest game ever.

come on you blues do manchester proud!!

i wont be predicting a score but it will be a city win

I don't care if we don't win, as long as we go out fighting. Its really difficult to predict this.

I think that we have to play to Spurs' weaknesses to win this game and their main weakness is that they commit too many men forward. If we can stay strong as a defensive unit letting nothing get through then we could easily do them on the break.

I might even consider dropping Bellamy for the first half to get a more structured team.

----------------Fulop-----------------
Nedum-----Toure---Kompany(C)--Bridge
Johnson Zabaleta De Jong Barry Bellamy
---------------Tevez------------------

Tell Barry and Zabaleta to double up down the wings. Nedum and Bridge to tuck in.

The way we have bounced back from the rags result makes me think we will win it. I agree with these tipsters and think it will be 2-1 us, Tevez and Bellamy scoring.
