CITY v Spuds - Official Match Thread

Is Roberto Mancini the right manager to take Manchester City forward?
Yes.
Who would you identify as City’s most improved player this season?
Weiss, Hart.
What do you think will be the lineup for City for the match?
Same as Villa.
What would you identify as City’s greatest strength as a club? The club’s greatest weakness?
Fans.
Away fans behind goal.
How do you feel about Carlos Tevez's remarks about leaving the club if there is no CL for Man City?
Bullshit.
Which Spurs player do you consider to be the biggest threat?
Bale.
Who is your favorite City player? Who is your favorite Spurs player?
Tevez.
Defoe. Wait is he a Pompey player? Or a Spurs player? Lost track. So I'll just go for Keane... oh.
What do you think of Harry Redknapp as a manger?
Twatknapp.
Some would say that, despite the money spent, City’s central defenders have been a bit of a disappointment. What is your opinion of this?
I'd say they're ill-advised and it's our LB which is weak.
What are your thoughts over the emergency goalkeeper loan saga?
Why is everyone so bitter.
Many fans remark that City’s spending habits represent everything that is wrong with football today. How do you feel about such a statement?
Tell them to fuck off and stop being bitter.
What is your prediction for the game?
You'll need bodyguards... haw haw haw. <a class="postlink" href="http://www.tottenhamhotspurs.tv/forum/players-lounge/12854-man-citeh-fans-saying-tottenham-fans-gonna-need-bodyguards.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://www.tottenhamhotspurs.tv/forum/p ... uards.html</a>
What do you think of this guy?

Cheers for the responses, lads.

Don't know whether I am allowed to or not, but I figured i'd throw in my views for the game on Wednesday. Though, judging by my first post being deleted I don't expect this one to last.

Anyways, you will never find me going into a game like City away expecting Spurs to win. The fact is, ever since I have supported the club their play would indicate that i predict the exact opposite. We have been labeled bottlers for a reason and I can completely understand why. That said, this year's team is something different. The talent is there as well as the mindset. Defensively things have been very good, as Spurs have conceded only 37 times. 64 goals scored is not a terrible tally either. The trouble is getting this sort of balance on the road. It is no secret that our road form is not nearly good enough, making a win in this fixture that much more unlikely.

Furthermore, City give opposing fans many reasons to be worried, Tevez and Adebayor being two of these. Ledley King likely won't play which means it will be up to Sebastian Bassong and Michael Dawson to deal with the city attack. Dawson has been brilliant for Spurs this season and I am 100% confident in his abilities. Bassong has stepped in wonderfully as well, but asking him to help shackle one of these two guys is asking a bit too much IMO. It is going to be next to impossible to keep you all off the board at your own stadium. I have to imagine City will score at least two.

However, I also like Spurs chances of finding the net. Fulop looked shaky to me in the Villa match and lack of consistency in a CB pairing is never a good thing, granted Toure and Kompany are both very, very good. I expect Spurs to score, though. Lennon and Bale will likely start on the wings and that in itself can be a lot to deal with at times. Couple that with Defoe and Crouch and you have quite a potent attack. Crouch can be a nuisance in the air and Defoe, when in form, can be tough to keep quiet. That is why I also expect Spurs to score 2.

That leaves it at a 2-2 draw for me. I know most of you think I'm crazy for predicting this, but it's just the way I feel. I completely understand the prediction of a City win. 3-0 in the first leg is not to be taken lightly, though (I know, I know depleted team, not at home, etc.).

Regardless this is going to be the game of the season IMO. Good luck to you and thank you for allowing me to post here.

Cheers

Will Bellamy's dodgy knee be strong enough to play three big games in a week? Personally I was impressed with SWP against Villa. Why not start with him and AJ on the wings, bringing on Bellers if/when we need him? Just a thought.

Would love to see AJ on the left and SWP on the right. Bring on Craig at about the 65-70 min mark for AJ.

Bellamy if Lennon is playing from the start, would be very useful helping out Bridge. AJ tries, but just isn't really as good at tracking back or as quick.

Has Gomes had his scan yet?

Will be a gamble to play him if he has a groin strain as the injury could be aggravated, and he could be compromised in the middle of the game
