CITY v Stoke - Official Match Thread

Hi Chaps,

This game will go one of two ways, we could sneak a scrappy 1 - 0 win or be on the wrong end of a drubbing.

Despite the recent loss at Villa there were plenty of positives from the game and I'm sure that Tuncay will continue to start.

Probable team

Sorensen
Huth
Shawcross
Faye
Collins
Etherington
Diao
Whelan
Whitehead
Tuncay
Sidibie

Our tickets sold out within hours I'm sure that yours will ahve done so too so should make for a good atmosphere.

Leave Ade sitting on the bench until he realises that he needs to work hard to get on the team not just turn up!!

Personally, I'd like to see this line-up:

--------------- Given ---------------
Richards -- Toure -- Kompany -- Barry
------------------ De Jong ---------
----------Ireland --------------------
Tevez -------- Robbie -------- Bellamy
--------------- Rocky----------------

Robbie's in his right element when playing behind the striker imo.

Now if you'd told Mark Hughes that....ahh well never mind eh ;)

Thanks mate. I have to admit, I would've loved to see this match. Unfortunately, I'm from Norway. Life isn't easy, is it. I'm thinking about moving to Manchester in a couple of years, though. In the meantime, I have to settle for the upcoming match against Pompey. Really looking forward to it! Can't wait to see the boys in action again!

Going a bit off topic there, sorry.

My tip for this match: City 3 - Stoke 1

It will inevitably take a while for the new manager to settle in so I predict a 2-2 draw with both Stoke goals coming from Delap throw-ins and with Bellamy getting a red card for dissent.

I wonder if Mancini sticks to 4-3-3 for now. I read he prefers 4-3-1-2.

4-3-3 is double edged. It's part of the reason why we conceded [and scored] so many goals.

For better defence maybe only two strikers are needed. I suspect Tevez will play in the centre because he can go back and help with defence. That will leave Robinho and Adebayor up front for counter attack, with Robinho playing wide.

Barry, De Jong and Ireland should form a more compact mass in the centre.
