CITY v Stoke - Official Match Thread

3-1 win. You always seem to get a little bit more effort from the players when a new manager takes over (apart from Strachan at 'Boro). My only worry is the usual shit defending a set pieces.

Don't forget theres no trains on Boxing Day!

If on the odd chance we lose this game fellas, please dont boo. It will only make the media jizz in their pants more.

Really looking forward to getting over for a few games - I hope we can tighten up at the back a good 1/2 nil win will breed confidence for Wolves away.

According to Marin Tyler, in three seasons in the Premier League, RSC has played 14 games in december and scored 13 goals! Would hope he keeps his place after the sunderland game, and hope he keeps that stat up

City players will be hard at work on Christmas Day as new manager Roberto Mancini leaves nothing to chance for his Boxing Day debut against Stoke.

Former Inter Milan boss Mancini is used to a festive break along with the rest of Italian football as Serie A is suspended for the holiday period along with other European leagues.

But the Blues stars will be training tomorrow morning and spending Christmas night in a team hotel ... as well as being reminded not to over-indulge at the family dinner table.

He said: "In Italy at the moment, the championship is stopped. When I was there I would stay at home and watch TV, and it was always the English Premier League! But I am happy to play on Boxing Day.

"We are all professionals and we must prepare well for the game against Stoke. They can eat their Christmas dinner, but not too much. And yes, they can have wine, but one glass!

Jesus...it looks like we have our own cappelo thing going on......

Club call are saying BEllamy is being dropped as he has fallen out with Mancini already these reports just wont go away. Anyone seen anything in training to suggest Bel;lamy has had a major falling out with the new boss ?

Mail and men dont have Bellamy in the squad with no justification outragous trouble causing going on IMO

no suprise if bellamy has kicked off...changing manager at this point in the season was always going to cause problems......

Maybe shouldn't fit players to make a formation but if Barry plays at left back it removes Bobbies problem of upsetting so many of the Forwards apart from RSC (Im assuming he will be left out and come on as an impact sub)

...........................GIVEN................................
...................................................................
.RICHARDS.......TOURE.....KOMPANY........BARRY...
...................................................................
.....................NDJ (C).....IRELAND....................
...................................................................
...BELLAMY...........ROBINHO(PM).............TEVEZ..
..........................ADEBAYOR...........................

Barry although not the best in the air (Stokes biggest threat) is better IMO than Sylvinho and Garrido and there is not a huge difference between the pace of the three of them.
I know we should play to our strengths and dominate the game but their threat has to be addressed also and although i hope Bobby is right about Shay coming for the throws I think it's not quite as easy as that!

Focus, anticipation, bravery and determination will be important factors and we need to ensure we show more of these atrtributes than Stoke

He could play Richards at left back but I don't see that happening
I hope we keep it on the deck and play it into feet - spank their asses
One thing is for sure I can't wait for Boxing day

Have we got a song for Bobby Manc sorted out yet?

bob bob bob bob bobby manc

Cheers
Have a great Christmas folks

This is what I think Mancini will do, I think Micah, SWP and Ade will all be on the bench cos of there knocks:

..................Given..................
Zabaleta...Toure...Kompany...Sylvinho
...................NDJ...................
........Ireland............Barry........
Bellamy...............................Robinho
..................Tevez..................

Subs: Taylor, Richards, SWP, RSC, Petrov, Adebayor, Weiss.

City 6 (Robinho 2, Tevez, Ireland, NDJ, SWP) Stoke 0.
