Wow.....that has to be the best performance, or one of them, that I have ever seen in almost fifty years of watching us. The pace, the movement, the hunger, the pressing, the individual moments of brilliance, it was breathtaking at times. Stoke could easily have lost by double figures today, how the fuck they got it back to 3-2 and made it look close for a short while was beyond me. If we keep that kind of level up not many teams are going to live with us. Stoke were totally befuddled at times, we looked like we had fifteen men, just a blur of blue shirts, like a whirlwind.
It sounds churlish to criticize after a performance like that but we gave away two very sloppy goals. Sane is a great talent but lost the ball twice for both goals, you could see Pep was livid with him after the second but he is only a kid and still learning. Sorry for the whinge but it had to be said. One think that stood out for me amongst plenty was near the end and Stoke were trying to press our defenders and we just passed it around them with ease. Their number 18 I think it was just threw his arms up in exasperation, we were just too good.
