City v Swans post match thread

Poor across the pitch but especially from Mangala, Clichy, Bony, and Yaya. I know people will say "but both Ivorians scored, you git!" but those contributions glossed over generally lacklustre performances. Yaya looked better toward the end of the match but I think that was more due to Swansea's tired legs. Bony was woeful in hold up and Clichy gave away the ball so many times (sometimes under little to no pressure). Hart, Silva, Otamendi, Fernandinho, and Later Delph were ok but not great. De Bruyne was not in it and Kelechi should have been on much earlier—it was a waste to wait that long, regardless of Bony's previous affiliation with opposition.

Generally we looked stagnant but we got three points and have time to correct the glaring issues.

You watched a different game to me. Yaya was great today along with Hart. It's too easy to blame yaya sometimes.

We should just give up.

Can the PL award them the moral 3 points i wonder?

Why is this so hard for you to understand? Everyone is happy we got 3 points. But unlike you 3 points isn't enough for us to bury our head in the ground and pretend everything is fine. We have serious problems and a better team would have beaten us easily today. And oh we're playing a better team next week so instead of slapping ourselves on the back for a lucky win we should be working our arses off in training trying to fix them.

Try it, its refreshing.
I can't, I see the game play out and react to what I've seen. At the end of the season I'll take your stance but for now I'll be concerned when we're scraping home wins against a Swansea side without a manager who outplayed us.

i agree with most of what your saying, but football is all about the 3 points at the end of the day, how is that strange.... .

we arent gonna play well every game, we didn't today and managed to get a win. if this win helps us towards winning the league khaldoon won't give a shit

he will give a shit when we fail to land trophies because of it...especially when the sloppiness of the defensive set up has been a constant which has not be addressed. and the point about playing well every game is a bit of a mute one at the moment as we aren't playing well in any game - the last good game i can remember where we played well all game in the prem was the chelski game

Well, Swansea had more shots on target. Hart made several decent saves. I remember just one shot their keeper saved - Toure freekick. They could've been 2 up before we even scored. We had a deflected goal. And I don't count pointless sideways possession.

If that is all you do it is pointless however to dismiss having possetion and getting a feel for the pitch and ball reflects poorly on yourself here tbh bud.
Not to mention you agitate the opposition, look where Utd are with only this kind of footy for example.

I feel you have the idea of perfection pc game type footy here, the real world is not so smooth.

They dont though do they?

Every week the same shit is trotted out but our position in the league and cups says its absolute fucking rubbish.

You play the opposition in front of you, thats all you can do and if you beat them, job done.

We get the job done better than anyone for the most part and look set to continue that trend this season.

fully agree

neither is just a lucky 3 pts enough to keep in justifying the argument that MP is doing a good job....plus we are only top of the league as other teams around us haven't played...same stupid argument as the one about still being in the FA Cup!

Freezing my nuts off waiting for the tram back in to town. Agree totally with your comments. Very very lucky to get the three points today, but I'll take them. That second half was dreadful.

Cheers, Jim.

I think a draw would have been a fair result, if an incredibly frustrating one!

Absolutely buzzing, nonetheless!
