Would anyone be ok if we "sacrificed" the FA cup and just sent out our 2nd string against United? Yeah beating United is always good but beating them to the title would be the best thing ever and not having FA cup games to play could really help us with that.
bollocks mate ...... bwe need to beat them and beat them good again

Not sure if you were being serious here.

If you were, it was Li Tie, ex-Everton and Sheffield United. AFAIK, absolutely no evidence that he was/is a rag. Far too many posters on this forum assume that all Asian-looking people must be rags, just as too many posters on the Everton forums assume they must be red dippers.
are you asian-looking and therefore offended by this generalisation?

And i was trying to be funny but obviously failed miserably....

I wouldn't, play strongest side, sorry it is bad enough having derby nerves beforehand last thing we need is to give their bastard fans anything to gloat over, had enough of that last 35 years, I want us to keep that foot firmly on their throat. Each game as it comes Bert, strongest team in each game, see what happens. If everything was predictable footie would be boring.

An asian guy made the draw. Probably a rag. It is a perfect setup for revenge for them. If it happens everybody will magically forget our horrible fixture list. I hope we can spoil their season. Would be enormous to still be on top in pl by february and still in fa and carling cup. Im secretly hoping for a treble....

if we beat them again they will be queuing up like lemmings and jumping of trafford bridge

Battersea bridge more likely<br /><br />-- Sun Dec 04, 2011 5:49 pm --<br /><br />

Only 2 seasons ago Chelsea won both. Why can't we?

Let them gloat then if they beat our 2nd string in the 3rd round. The reduced games would really help our title chances and I'd like to see them gloat about the FA cup when we have the title and possibly the Carling cup as well.

Blasphemy. It's taken years to get our paws back on the FA Cup, and it's now ours to defend.

Too much arrogance on here. The Rags have been drawn against us, the holders, in the 3rd round. A team which beat them 6-1 on their own ground.

They don't even need a team talk. Look at the incentive they have - knock out the holders AND get some form of revenge.

Sure but who frightens you in there team? Compared to ours? Saying that is put our 2nd team out against them

Not saying we can´t but they were well used to winning things by then. They also had far more experience in general terms and many of that side reached their peak that season. Many of those players are the ones AVB wants rid of now. We are babies in comparison and this worries me in terms of going at it on all fronts

Re: Back In The Real World...

The phrase pride comes before a fall always rings true. We should remain dignified until we humilate them and then give them the onslaught that their arrogance over the years fully deserves. Another phrase which always expresses what we should feel is revenge is a dish best served cold. The more time we spend giving them ammunition will only potentially haunt us in the future. My general feeling is that the more we ignore them the more bitter, twisted and angry they'll become. Remember our big derby is against Bolton. Liverpool? Pah! Don't make me f**king laugh!
