strongbowholic said:You said nothing about the ref having to justify it or not. You said, by the letter of the law it was a red, ergo you agree it was a red. Personally, I think that's bullshit - as argued in an earlier post when I explained how Kompany went in and how his legs acted during the tackle. Pertinently, City have appealed the card too, so I imagine they are likely to be of the same mind as me.bluecroi said:strongbowholic said:1) you stated it was a red card - I disagree
2) if you consider our display today from being 0-3 down to coming back to 2-3 and almost nicking a draw as a lack of effort whilst down to 10 men for 80 mins, well that's your opinion.
3) correct; the point I'm making is you failed to mention it at all
I said it was a ridiculous decision (like I said you don't read my posts) all I said was that the ref will not have to justify the decision because in the rules of the game, two footed tackle is a red. It might be a load of shit, but that's the way it is.
I said the effort first half was poor. It was. The second half was excellent. But just because the second half was excellent doesn't mean we should ignore the mistakes in the first half. Like I said I wont ignore them for the sake of some happy clappy fans. We don't all have to smile and nod at the same time.
God forbid I forgot to mention to mention the penalty. That settles it then.
And here was me thinking you could go an entire post without an insult.
Almost, but then again almost never got you anywhere.
You go on further about mistakes in the first half an such. I'm stating that overall, we reacted admirably and did extremely well. You seem to be failing to give the team any credit.
You mentioned that lot should have had a penalty; I pointed out the fact you failed to mention our equally valid claim which theoretically would have cancelled that one of their's out, so surely it should have been mentioned in any post match analysis, hence me making the point.
Yep, me too.Duphrates said:I bet I wasn't the only one to remember the 4-3 turnaround v Spurs and have a cheeky quid on it at half time. 90/1!
Did a little wee when Kun scored.
/ever the optimist.
Maybe that twice having responses wiped because I was logged out. Then not being able to log back in had me reverting to a one word post in frustration.cleavers said:At least he offered some points for debate, unlike your post.Gaylord du Bois said:Crap.JoeMercer'sWay said:bitterly dissappointed with the way things panned out.
cross with Mancini for not picking Hart and Clichy, no reason to leave them out, hardly sent the right message.
Vinnie won't get that rescinded, didn't need to make the challenge.
Felt we stood off them too much after the red like they did at OT which gave them a pretty easy 3-0 lead(don't know what NDJ was doing for Welbeck's goal, he's the 1 man who should be putting his foot in come hell or high water) but cannot fault us in the 2nd half.
Felt the ref made some mistakes for both sides, both could have penalties in the 2nd half.
The draws are so rigged though, sorry, its so blatant.
Like people have said, we beat them 6-1 when 1-0 up with only 43 mins left to play. They had most of the game against 10 men with a 1-0 lead and they scraped it in the end.
we're having a poor run for our standards, we need to win on wednesday and we need to crack on with the league now.
fuck :(TheMightyQuinn said:bellbuzzer said:bit of semantics to throw into the mixer. VK did not tackle Nani, because nani did not have the ball, it was there to be won, therefore the rules regarding tackling do not apply. Jumping at someone who is in control of the ball is what the rule was intended to eradicate,i.e the shawcross tackle. The fact that we have this thread means the rule is not being interpreted consistently even by the same ref in the same game,
Good point but you've put it in the wrong thread :)
