Ajax were rubbish and would have been turned over by most Premiership teams. We were well below par. But your analysis is totally wrong. We expended a great amount of effort in the first 20 minutes trying to close the man on the ball down. There was plenty of determination and attitude. Too much if anything

We needed composure on the ball, and to play our normal game. instead we tried to knock them out in the first 20 mins. Good reaction to the Dortmund game where we were outfought, but there's no point if you don't do the basics at the same time such as defend corners.

Team has so much guts. They nearly came back again. What's lacking is not spirit but the feeling that the players and team belongs in the Champions League. They are much better player for player than Ajax. Their players are not Premiership standard, and I don't think one would get in our starting line up.

There is so much wrong with this I'm not even going to bother, you compared Ajax to West Bromwich earlier in this thread and I'll just leave it at that..
You find me a player like Odemwingie or Shane Long in the Ajax team. They were rubbish and survived thatnks to 2 set-piece goals and a City team panicking because they were 2-0 down and going out of the Champions League. You think Ajax of Cruyff, and Seedorf but this is not the same team

WTF is this ^

Ajax really aren't a good team, 2 pathetic early goals to give away and you struggle against any team.

My patience has now gone with Nasri, just doesn't seem to create anything, too busy turning back on himself, slowing down every fucking move

every team in champions league is a GOOD TEAM

Robbed tonight, played the best I've seen us all season. Should have got the win, pressed hard. Pathetic corners, without those it would have been easy as we looked good.

Penalty clear as day and Aguero's wasn't offside. Ref fucked us over tonight.

Why we had no-one on the near post I don't know, that is basic

i got a soft spot for samir but im feeling the same... genuinely frustrated watching him play.

First off, I thought we were better than them over 90 minutes. We deserved 3 points.

That doesnt cover up the fact that we are not playing as well as we can, we are not playing badly either but we still had enough to beat Ajax who were poor and we should have beaten them. At times, we look too one dimensional and have no width. We are culpable on the break and that is how teams play in this competition. Say bye to the zonal marking as well, thats twice in the last two weeks we have been done by it and it would be easier to defend them man to man, who knows, we may now have been in a better position to qualify.

The offside and the penalty were two of the worst decisions Ive ever seen, the penalty more so. If you have a look at where the ref is stood he has a clear line of site, the dumbo behind the goal as well and the liner, looking right down the line. How the fucking hell do they not see that? Bottled it. Simple as that.

Braga, Cluj? Ajax are good as in mid-table Premiership at best. Ryan Babel plays for them. Shane Long and Odemwingie are far better. They were very poor tonight even after the boost of a 2 goal start.

How do you explain the repeated sub-par European performances?

I was blaming mancini before, but the players look like they are very shaky and they are not playing as comfortably and calmly as they would in the Premiership. I think the only theory that makes sense is that the team collectively needs experience and confidence at this level. We need an easy group to get a couple of wins and then we'll be off and running. Unfortunately we have to qualify all over again and will get another group of death. When you look at it though, Napoli, Villareal and Ajax have not been anything extraordinary

WTF does is matter how shit or how good Ajax are, when the only reason we didn't win was the officiating?

Some of you want shooting.
