City Vs AjaxPost Game Discussion Thread

You think it is ok for players to make mistakes but not ok for officials to make mistakes? Why? It is bizarre because any reasonably intelligent person would realise that both players and officials are mere human beings and will therefore always be likely to make the odd mistake. If refs were cyborgs I could possibly understand your comment as it is I think it is bizarre.

point being if your team makes a mistake thats your own fault ..if an official makes one then its beyond your control hence not your fault.

notice i said `officials shouldnt` not that `officials are robots and dont`

to clarify we lost not because of our mistakes but because of officials errors other wise we would of won 3-2

The nonsense about the officials crap decisions not mattering because of our shit defending is ...well it's nonsense.
In the timeline of the game we fucked it up to start with, recovered, drew level and scored a winner...disallowed wrongly...then we secured a penalty in the last second...not given...so despite shooting ourselves in the foot we did come back and potentially win the game but for shite officialdom...

You pretty much summed up what I have been trying to say haha. Thanks

explain it to that lancet fella will ya cos he thinks im bizarre now

IF the freeze-frame for the disallowed "goal" is at exactly the moment when Dzeko played the ball for Kolarov, then by the letter of the law, he is offside (one foot ahead of the ball - though someone has suggested Kolarov took a step back before the ball was played), but I'd like to see some of the other offside calls made by that same assistant as some looked well dodgy.

Watching that goal more times I'm not completely sure it was good, it's nothing different than West Ham's cancelled one. No chance he could see it though, I guess he was tricked by Ajax player who raised his hand immidiately.

But Balotelli penalty decision was a joke. There's no chance that wasn't seen, they just didn't want to call it.

there was a blatant wrong one earlier where sergio was given off but was a couple of yards on

BvB was lucky and got to play a very diminished Madrid in both games, even Ramos was playing injured and you could tell, and Arbeloa was his first match in 6 weeks, we won't be so lucky

I wouldn't say Dortmund were lucky, they played well first half and rode their luck second. A draw was fair imo.
well klopp tends to disagree, and callejon goal was on. I ain't saying they were lucky today, and they were, I am saying they have played against a team in both legs with half their starters missing or playing out of position and injured or just back from a good spell in the dry dock. By the time they play us dont expect them to be so weaken

One example for non-sayers..

Last year when rags were playing Ajax in Europa League, Ajax have beaten them 2:1 at swamp. They were all over them at the end needing one more goal to win the tie (rags won 2:0 in Amsterdam). YOu know what was the injury time in 2nd half - 2 bloody minutes. I don't remember I've ever seen a game that saw only 2 minutes added in 2nd half.

Now compare that with officiating we had tonight. No bloody chance that goal would be cancelled if Rags scored them and you can bet they would get that penalty. Them, Barcelona, Bayern, Madrid and such..

But officials "shouldn't make mistakes" is entirely irrelevant because unfortunately we are dealing in reality and officials DO make mistakes. It is just as relevant to say "defenders shouldn't make mistakes." Nobody should make mistakes but everyone does. So what's your point and how does it prove that our failure to win was not in any way due to our mistakes? Why is a ref's mistake more important to you than a defender's mistake. Personally I think our failure to win was a combination of the two but the very fact that we can do something about our defensive errors but cannot do anything about refereeing errors makes the defensive errors more of an issue imo.<br /><br />-- Wed Nov 07, 2012 2:51 am --<br /><br />

Well I just hope Mancini and the players aren't like you two. Our team made a bit of a tits of it tonight and if they go in to training and convince themselves that they only failed to win because of the officials then they will end up learning fuck all from this hideously poor CL campaign.
