Re: Arsenal game

Arsenal have to avoid defeat by 3 goals to go through. I am not sure what they have to do to avoid losing first place though.
I can see Wenger resting 3-4 individuals, its not as big a game for them as some are thinking.

Re: Arsenal game

All the threads about 'atmosphere' should hopefully be banished for a bit after this game, if we get stuck into them from the off (which they don't like as Everton proved) and we beat them, the Etihad will be rocking....bring it on!

3-0 City. minimum.

I wish. Unfortunately I think it will be much more difficult than that. Arsenal are 6 points clear of us for a reason - they are playing great creative football and defending solidly. Wenger is hardly a numpty either and will have a strategy and contingency plans for Saturday.

That said, I think we will shade it, but I can't see it being a walkover as you suggest.

Re: Arsenal game

I'm amazed at the number of City fans predicting walk overs and high margin wins. I thought us Gooners were meant to be the arrogant ones.

For what it's worth I predict a narrow City win or a draw.

If Dortmund win, which even in their weakened position they will do, and Arsenal lose then Arsenal will be 2nd,and if Napoli beat themby 3 goals then they will be in the Europa League. I expect Arsenal will get a draw, if not win.

The above is just my reading of the situation from their Group Table
Group F
PWDLFA+/-Pts
Arsenal 5 4 0 1 8 3 5 12
Dortmund 5 3 0 2 9 5 4 9
Napoli 5 3 0 2 8 9 -1 9
Marseille 5 0 0 5 4 12 -8 0

Don't be, it's called confidence in the team based on what we have seen they do at home. Arsenal are a good side, yes, but we are better. If our away form was as good as our home form, we would be sat talking about pulling further away from Arsenal, not catching them up. That's another issue though but the fact is we are at home, we are devastating at home and Arsenal will not be looking forward to it one bit.
Nothing wrong with confidence, and it shouldn't be confused with arrogance.

Because of the manner of the City wins at home. Best I have seen. But I think the occasion might destroy the game. City might play safe as its important not to lose

What does everybody think?
Personally I think they're going to be exhausted from the game against Napoli and their squad depth is nowhere near ours.

Add to that the fact we're playing at fortress Etihad and it's looking to become a great weekend for us.
Their squad depth in midfield dwarfs ours. They brought on three midfielders in a triple substitution the other day (Rosiscky, Walcott and Flamini), and still had midfielders on the bench, as unused squad players and out injured - we do not possess the ability to try and change a game in midfield like that.

As it happens i am confident we will win on Saturday as i think, at home, we are excellent and will play in a confidence and way that will be a level Arsenal won't have seen thnis season (Dortmund had a tonne of injuries when Arsenal went there).
