City Vs Borussia Dortmund (CL) Post Match Thread

Well played Borrussia...sometimes you have to acknowledge a great performance and we could have been on the end of a thuimping tonight.
They pressed high and hard with lots of energy and their movement when attacking was superb.
We had some moments first half but on the whole were sluggish and pedestrian. Got out of jail tonight and it could be a huge point in the final mix.

Just this: All players should glorify JOE HART!!! He busted us out tonight.

Joe Hart rescued your ass....
so did weidenfeller yours.

And Joe Hart for sure is a better sportsmen. When he got into the face of Balotelli before the penalty (I do not know what he said - and I right now am in the believe he told him a good luck) this reminded me of the stunt Subotic did on Robben the recent time in Dortmund. That penalty should have counted double for that.

That is why I do not like that club. You know I am a Bayern fan - but I have no problems with Schalke and I wish them every luck on European ground. But I do not like the way Dortmund behaves. It is ok to be hungry and eager - that is things I love to see, too - but not if there is steps over a special line. And they have players like Weidenfeller, Subotic and Großkreutz that do.

I think this group is a bridge too far for us and we need a few more years to develop in this competition.

Saying that we are still in it and should keep fighting!

We've got to keep fighting , i agree , but already the writing is on the wall ....

Real Madrid have one of the qualifying places practically sewn up already , and Dortmund are already one up on us , and we still have to go there ...... this is a team who have lost just once in 32 matches !!!!!!

And if anyone thinks Ajax will be a walkover they could be in for a shock , but Dortmund will stand a better chance of beating them than we do .....

If we cannot advance to the Round of 16, I would prefer that Ajax finish ahead of us, so that we miss those wonderful Thursday night fixtures in the EL. I'd rather miss that comp and concentrate on the league and the FA Cup.

Hart was immense.

Zaba had a good game I thought.

Aguero started brightly but tired.

Pretty much everyone else was fucking woeful.

That's the worst City display I've seen for a long, long time. If it hadn't been for Hart we'd have lost that by 3 or 4 goals.

Special mention goes to Yaya who simply must have borrowed someone elses feet tonight, if you'd never seen him play football before you'd be forgiven for wondering whether he'd get a game for a pub side.
Yaya had a poor game but it happens, I´m more concerned of Kompany tbh, all over the place at the moment.
He made a few minor mistakes, but he was also immense at times

I don't know what game some of you watch at times

We are out of our depth in Europe as long as mancini is in charge,
We will do well in the prem just purly with great individuals who can pull something out of the bag.
Nothing to do with mancini and his average manager/coaching skills.

sick of how fickle some of our fans are, one week garcia amazing and the future of our midfield next week hes shit make your mind up.
It's ignorance. they don't realise that there's football outside of the Premiership, and we've just played the German Champions who thrashed bayern 5-2, not Cluj

I'll accept we didn't play as well as we could. But there's no balance at all.
I've seen Dortmund a lot this season and they're not pulling up any trees, we shouldn't be getting shat on like we did tonight. Look at Dortmund's away results this season. Its Mancinis baffling tactics at fault for tonight, we were excellent on Saturday yet he changes the formation again.

They were much better than us in nearly every department. They have spent a fraction what we have but have an incredible team. Klopp will be a future candidate to manage City I believe when the vacancy appears, his style of football is hard to play against and would be brilliant in the Premier League. I continue to worry at how indirect we are, nearly everything is slow build and European teams seem to know how to play us.

The earlier Mancini realizes that Yaya isn't a DMF the better the team would play . Yaya is more like a link between the Defense and the Attack , he just can't be used to play the "stagnant" role of a defensive Midfielder . We've seen on numerous occasions how he picks the ball up from the Defensive midfield and burst towards the attack line .
