City Vs Bournemouth Post Match Thread

I like Mike Dean. Didn't give them a blatant pen, and then ignored the Sterling offside. Plus if it wasn't for that pesky lino on the East Stand side I'm sure he would have let the 6th goal stand too. Well played Deano.

Yeah was a penalty but sterling wasn't offside

Maybe our ground isn't as fan friendly as we think..

No plans to rush back here next season.

Just like LFC, loads of entertainment and bars behind the stadium, but unlike LFC, it's staffed by nobheads and away fans not allowed in.

£6.50 for sausage & chips. Loads of 'posh food' around the outside (which didn't look that appealing). Even the compere for the 'entertainment' did his best to live up to the gobby northern git stereotype.

Headed into the stadium to experience a very thorough and unfriendly search/pat down. Small children had soft drinks in small cartons taken off them and poured away.

Arrived at the food counter at 2:15pm to be told that they had run out of all hot food and there wouldn't be any more till half time. £2.50 for a bottle of water and no soft drinks for kids except £3 for a cup of fizzy syrup.

No attempt to make away fans welcome that we've seen at other grounds. Poor show given the money they are charging us.

A couple of things this guy says may be true but he seems to me like one of these new type of fan who thinks he's having an evening at the theatre rather than a football match.plus suggest if he's going to moan about prices he should take a walk around his own town the way they try an fleece all the tourists

You will never please everyone all the time.
Away fans IMO should be afforded a little more leniency and cheaper items. It would probably make their day out far more memorable.

Can't believe Ichys goal was given offside!! Quality finish from the lad. Excellent prospect.

I thought Bournemouth played some nice football at times, but thought the manager was a bit naive coming to ours, having a go & leaving the defence so exposed to the counter attack. In the first half we looked like we would score every time we hit them on the break. The first half was really enjoyable to watch IMO, the second half was a bit of a none event until the last 15 mins.

I think Joe Hart's distribution has improved massively this season, and it's good to see him starting off good attacks from getting accurate balls out quickly to our forwards or midfield players. I love how quickly we are getting forward this season when we are countering.

I was pleased for Bony & Sterling. I think the defence looks shaky at times though.

City scored early, nice, we scored again to seal the win ealry, nice. They scored a flukey goal but then we turned it on and scored enought to secure the win, nice. MOTD for once had a fair review of the game (Not sure why Utd were on first, I mean they didnt exactly concentrate on Kendal!), even Shearer said good things about us.

De Bryune looked good again, Bony and Sterling partnership showed promise, We did well without our main players, the future is good, it's blue

So where does that leave zabaleta ?? Just asking.
The Bournemouth player had his hand on the line at the point Bony played the ball to Sterling.

It doesn't make one bit of difference whether his hand is on the pitch or not mate. He could have gone and sat in the first row of the crowd there and if he'd not left the pitch for treatment he'd still be playing everyone on. Think about it if players could just go behind the line to play people offside when a free kick is about to be crossed in the defenders could stand close to the line and jump behind it as the player runs up to take it and everyone in the box would be offside. The commentator just had a mare on MOTD and as usual the dicks getting paid a fortune never mentioned it after.

He's considered to be inactive as the attacking player and anyway clearly isn't interfering with play whether he's on the pitch or not.

However if he is considered to have stepped off the pitch then comes backs on and is considered to have gained an advantage by doing so, I think he gets a yellow card.

Didn't know that leave pitch rule. They've messed with offside rule so much can't keep up :)

The ball went backwards
Attacking players are allowed to step off the pitch to show that they are not interfering with play and whilst Zab didn't do that he was not interfering with play or seeking to gain an advantage or whatever the official wording is. In other words, the rules regarding offside and players being off the pitch are different for attacking and defending players.

Bournemouth probably should have had a penalty, although I didn't think so at the time; however, It was a genuine attempt at a tackle and Dean could not give it from his position.

It's not daft it makes perfect sense that Ritchie is seen to be playing everyone ONside.

Sorry Craig. Deleted my post, as it duplicated a lot of explanations. Maybe not as daft as i first thought,
when someone explained players could be jumping off the pitch left right and centre.

In the car on the way home yesterday, Mrs Vienna phoned our five-year old grandson to tell him the result.

"We beat boring Bournemouth 5-1," she said.

"They must be boring if they only scored one goal!" Was his reply.

Sterling and Kelechi were both on side. Otamendi should have conceded a penalty - possibly for the challenge but probably for hand ball a moment later. The officials weren't great for either side.

There was a lack of midfield cover in front of our defence during the first half but that was addressed when Fernando replaced Yaya.

KDB and Sterling were outstanding!
