Everybody here complains about high ticket prices for a premier league match and they'll return or not renew there season tickets if they don't come down don't have any idea how much worse it is over here..they have it good compared to us I would jump at the chance for a ticket for 80 dollars ..you can't go to an nfl game for 2 people unless u spend 3 to 400 dollars and that's just to walk in the stadium..people have no idea how much better they have it then usgymshoe said:I am acutely aware of what happened. The ticket touts were offered first chance, and they took it. cardinals.com/soccer shows the face value of the tickets, and we never had a shot. I took time off work to get online and purchase. No chance in hell to purchase even a $25 standing room ticket. The ticket broker's webpages are oozing tickets right now.
I have been to seven matches at CoMS/Etihad, the two in New York (my York away), one in Los Angeles (Loved Mario's backheel stunt--in a friendly), Arsenal last year and Everton a fortnight ago, and have never had issues getting tickets. Now, I can't go to a match 80 miles from my home due to ticket scalpers. I absolutely refuse to pay a third party for their profit. To say I'm upset about this is an understatement of the highest order. And its only a "friendly". Perhaps this is an omen, though. For the current cost of the ticket I wanted to purchase, I can fly to Manchester, board a coach with my mates and catch the FA Cup final...and have plenty of bob left over for the autumn trip / 3rd round League Cup match week. With a little luck and the Grace of God, I will see y'all 11 May!
A pox on the Cardinals for this poor show.
Damn dude that sucks..I would be so upset I wouldn't know what to do if that happen to me..but it might they might charge and arm and a leg at Yankee stadium I'm scared that I might get priced out..I can't believe how bad they treat us with these ticketsNo 1 City Fan said:So pissed off with this Cardinals shite.. Selling early without notification and selling off to scalpers and other organisations just to ensure they sold out. They had no idea what the demand would be. I was on line at 10am and waited unto noon to be told they sold out. How come they didnt shut it down after 20 mins!! More red basterds!!
Might be a long shot mate, but are you a member of any of the OSC's over there? Victoria Gregory is coordinating tickets for all the OCS's and it might be worth contacting her to see if she has any dropouts/spares.gymshoe said:I am acutely aware of what happened. Tickets for the soccer match between Chelsea and Manchester City at Busch Stadium on May 23 sold out within minutes of going on sale at 10 a.m. Tuesday morning.
"I think if we had a 100,000-seat stadium, we could have sold it out," said Vicki Bryant, vice president of event services and merchandising for the Cardinals, who's overseeing the event. "We expected it to sell out, but I don't think we expected it to sell out in minutes. ... Quite frankly, we're blown away by the demand. This is the kind of demand you would get for Game 7 of the World Series."
The Cardinals had a presale for season-ticket holders on Monday — Bryant termed the response there "great" — and then opened the sale to the general public on Tuesday morning. They didn't last long.
"Within a matter of minutes," Bryant said. "Within the first 20 minutes, the tickets were gone. Within the first five to 10 minutes, everything was locked up and transactions were in progress. The beauty of ticketing systems today is they can process thousands at one time. When we opened at 10 a.m., there were thousands of transactions simultaneously. It took only minutes to get them accounted for."
In addition to being sold online, tickets also went on sale at the team's box office. Bryant said they tried to be proactive, going outside to tell people in line that if they weren't in the first two or three, the tickets would probably be gone by the time they got to the front of the line and they should head to either the Busch Stadium ticket kiosks or get online somehow.
The Cardinals sold standing room only seats and limited view seats and, as of Tuesday afternoon, there was nothing left. Bryant said some seats could still become available from teams or from group holds. "We encourage people to check back," she said. "If we get a considerable amount, we'll put the word out on Facebook or Twitter. We don't have any tickets at this point."
Bryant said that the team was also looking at any ways to fit more seats into the stadium for the game or sell tickets for seats they weren't planning to sell. Some temporary seats, for instance, are being put on the field.
