City vs Chelsea pre-match thread

Chelsea are at their peak for the season, City are nowhere near theirs yet and likely won't reach it until Gabriel Jesus is here. Simple. So this isn't a title decider by any means. Still, a win would be a brilliant, brilliant result.

Our record in big games this season is good compared to last year, when we collapsed against basically any decent team.

I think the only decent team we've played so far was Spurs. Hope that's not an omen.

I think its important we win this game and hope we don't settle for a point. Chelsea will be strong in the 2nd half of the season, out of league cup, no European football, they are able to play the same team and most importantly (as Leicester could do last year) the same defence in most matches - that gives them a solidity which means they can win games 1-0 and just keep accumulating the points.

I don't fancy our chances of overturning a 5-6 point gap at Christmas, so let's get ahead of them now and at least put some doubts in their mind. 2-1 City, a late winner from Gundogan.

I like how you see things.

Bravo
Sagna Otamendi Kolarov Clichy
Fernadinho Fernando
Sterling KDB Silva
Aguero
I can see this X1 starting. We will have Yaya and Gundogan to come off the bench. I too would give a start to Nolito , who is a technically gifted player.
Sterling will have to give us more than at Burnley.
I am going for a 2-2.

I'm sure Costa will behave impeccably.......

Nolito needs to stay away from him as he is a proper wind up merchant. He's liable to get one of ours sent off, and Nolito can be a bit of a hot head at times.

I can see them sitting back and trying to hit us on the break. I hope I'm wrong, but I can't see it being an open game.

I will take a scrappy 1-0 for us now. But I'm sure we all know we will concede at least one goal.
Let's see the city that destroyed Barca.
