Not if you harbour real intentions of top 4 footy bud.
Not having a crack there thats just the truth of the matters i replied to and you would be hard pressed to find any fan at any club who would say im wide of the mark on that.
Cheers for coming on though i always like to hear a non ranty view from the oppo.
We seem more than capable of meltdowns between ourselves, (see: Dzeko threads) :D
I have no problems coming onto other forums and having good discussions and i'm slightly surprised that i didn't get alot of abuse.
But, before today we had the best defense in the premiership. Our back for is very good.
Lucas, is one of the most under rated players in the league. He is an absolute machine.
You put out our best possible team.
Reina
Johnson
Agger
Skertl
Enrique
Maxi
Lucas
Gerrard
Bellamy
Suarez
Carroll
That is a good starting position for a team. We then add a Mata/Silva type player and then a striker like Torres from 2 years ago then that is a team that can easily get top 4 football.
I know you think, its another false dawn for us. But it isn't. You can just feel it, something is different. The club lost its identity and Kenny is bringing it back. And he will also bring back trophies and a platform for which our next manager (Jamie Carragher) can take us back to where we were in the 70's and 80's.
Im happy that you are experiencing this success, but i have a very simple question for you all.
Does it feel like your playing football manager but you have added 500million to your balance? You win everything, but it doesn't feel as good as earning the way the game is meant to be played.
Lucas has come good indeed, Henderson seems to be growing also and your defence is solid aye.
Thee is no such thing as "the way it is meant to be played" it has simply evolved.
You chaps started it as your 80's team were all bought for what was then big cash. United had a few quid chucked in also but they did get giggs, scholes etc which helped a lot.
But they also have spent a hell of a lot to keep everyone else at arms length.
It is a myth all this "the right way" stuff. Look at Madrid, a state funded club yet everyone sees El Classico as some ideal of this myth.
The hard facts are in modern footy if you don't spend you don't get i'm afraid.
Defo not like playing a computer game as i bet Mancini would tell you it is bloody hard gelling a squad, being able to rotata any player and position seemlesly (which we are still learning).
