City vs Valencia

Decent performance all round that.

Jo on the scoresheet again, the guy is fucking shit but to be fair to him he does know where the net is. He is one of those players that in a garbage team you will pull your hair out watching him but in a good team he will score goals because if nothing else he does get himself in good positions. To say he is better than Ade as someone has suggested on here is laughable but I would suggest he gets himself in better goalscoring positions than Ade. If he stays as 4th choice striker he will probably get 20 odd games this season in various cup competitions and sub appearances and it really wouldnt surprise me if he ended up in double figures for the season!

Well put, the most frustrating thing is Jo has what Ade lacks/needs and vice versa.

dont know why but just been reading villa talk(villa forum) and seen that Damocles is a member on there haha :)..

Yeah, i do read it from time to time esp regarding the Miner situation. Domacles really does spell it out to them with some solid facts when they are talking shit.

Precisely.

Very pleased with the performance.

Are we to read anything into Bellamy not getting a run out?

Well I read it as he is a goner! If he cant get on the field in a friendly after 10 subs have been made and the likes of Weiss, Ibrahim and Cunningham get on the pitch then I think it is pretty safe to say that Bellamy will not be a City player by September 1st!

Wouldn't read anything into it, he's in the Wales squad and therefore could be rested with an eye on next weekend.

pity the OS cant get Silva's name right .....in the team lineups at the bottom of the page he is known as Silver, was Ade the lone ranger upfront ......

I would agree with you if Bellamy was a 1st choice starter but he is definitely a squad player now. For him to not get even 10 minutes tonight given all the subs we made says to me that Bellamy will be plying his trade elsewhere this season.

In a way I will be sorry to see him go because his performances last season certainly made me eat humble pie but on the flip side I would rather see our squad players be younger players who have a future at the club rather than 31 year olds whose best years are behind them!

I think todays game was a good run out and glad to see us win one finally . I was impressed with all the new boys , yaya look good on the ball and was very good in the challenge . Kolarov looked good going forward , tried a few flicks that dint come off but give him the benfit of the doubt . yet to see him put in a solid defnesive display , next week will be his test against aaron lennon . Silva had some very good touches , but not enough of him to get a good perspective . But he is quality and i back him to be an instrumental figure for us this year . Boateng looked solid at the back , he made one great crunching tackle which i hope we can see moreof . His cross for barry was just pure class and i think he could be our right back . Kolo toure played 45 but still worries me when he get the ball or when we are being attacked i hope he improves this season . Everything else looked good , AJ looked good when he came on great touches . Ade didnt do anything for me all game not one shot i dnt think and just walked , its a friendly so i hope he picks it up next week for the spuds . Jo again impressed me and another goal , he looks good , good touch and he played a number of through balls aswell , for me he should stay as he has a greater impact that RSC does . I was surprised bellers never got a run out but tht must be the end of him then aswell as RSC . but al in all i am happy with the result , role on spurs and i hope we can get off to a winning start as that would set the pace for the rest of the season . CTID

Kolarov looked brilliant to me and makes Bridge a distant memory.
Boateng looked really good, but I want him in the centre.
I want Richards at right back because he was the best player on the pitch tonight.
Barry was alright, nothing special but that's just the player he is. Quiet workhorse.
Tevez and Silva linked up quite well considering their lack of understanding.

I think I learnt more about the goalkeeping situation this time. Hart had nothing to do because he organised his defence. Given had something to do because he failed to do the same thing. I am unhappy with the idea of Lescott playing in the centre because I think he is clumsy / mistake prone. Kolo was alright, but not captain material. I think Johnson needs to be a starter. He done really well too.

Overall good performance and solid win.

Great performance, Johnson was excellent surely a shoe in for England. Jo impressed me too.

BUT,

for me the whole game was overshadowed by Bellamy not getting a run out. Seems like he's on his way and I'm gutted - he's the type of player we need to hold on to.

I reckon him and Mancini don't see eye to eye, Bellamy was first down the tunnel tonight and didn't look happy.

Wish the fans had had a chance to show their appreciation for what he did for us last season. Would have had a massive cheer and put Mancini in a difficult position.
