City vs Villa - post match thread

At times it's like watching half a dozen players playing OAP's football. Game was totally changed not by the goals but by the introduction of Raheem, Kelechi, and Manu Garcia. I'm not sure what's going on at present other than players getting picked because this is some sort of final hurrah for them. Because on merit, they don't get in the side ahead of the players who came on from the bench.

Delighted with the three points, delighted that Raheem got a goal, delighted that Kun got a couple, delighted that Kelechi and Manu Garcia came on and looked composed and wanting to get involved, and delighted we got a clean sheet.

Villa one of the worst PL sides i've ever seen. But the choice of team especially in the first half made it easy for them.
 
Not much to glean from this, against the basement team of the league. One of those games where as soon as we score we'd bag a few more.

4-0 decent result, points in the bag , look forward to Norwich
 
What was that with the league/capital one cup as well?? We had just won a trophy couldn't we have made more of a show than two ex players carrying it onto the pitch pre kick off,doing a quick lifting it up then shooting off? Same with the under 18's people who weren't grabbing a half time pint or piss were clapping them and most just ignored the crowd and walked around chatting with their hands in their pockets.I am getting fucking old lol!!
 
We can only beat what is put in front of us but you would have struggled to name which of the 2 teams were bottom 3 off that 1st half performance. Bony could and should have had a hat-trick - sitter in front of goal and 2 decent headed chances. His first touch is shocking and i think he must know he's a goner next season.

All season we have struggled to cope with teams that work harder than us and this needs to change from now until the end of the season if we have any aspirations of Champions League - and by that I mean Top 3.

At the end of the day, we are in a slightly better position than we were at 3 o'clock and 3 points is 3 points but we are miles off the performances of our 2 championship winning years.
 
We didn't play particularly well today, but then again we didn't need to. Villa were absolutely dire. Still, not going to grumble about a 4-0 win! The league table looks a bit better tonight. Could do with United dropping points tomorrow, but suspect they'll win. It'll be good for the squad to have a week without a game, hopefully recover a bit after a hectic 10 days.
 
I can't believe so many people are moaning so cosmically after a 4-0 win; picking up a trophy and getting one foot into the QF of the CL
 
Why's the build up so slow first half dinihio playing to deep shocking tactics first half just great full for the win! Need to improve
 
i'd have thought people would be happy with a win, after recent results.
but hey ho moan when we lose, moan when we draw and fucking moan even more when we win.
FFS. Teams no matter how shit they are, aren't just going to part like the red sea for us to have a party.

A fair summing up. First half was turgid, with a dreadful lack of intensity. Second half was a stroll but at least it was at times a determined one.

Was very impressed with Garcia: if he can pass like that against decent opposition, he coukd turn out to be a little gem.
