We never sing, other than "Yellow Army" and "Deeney, Deeney.." purely 'cos anymore than 2 words and things get confusing for some. Proud of the numbers we took today/yesterday however! If we stuck the one on one chance we had to i think level it(?) then the atmosphere MAY have picked up.
But oh well, back to taking 200 to away games to the likes of Barnsley! Good luck this season and beat those reds to the title!
Thanks for that Watford Dan, I was talking to your mascot after the match and saying how good it was to see such a great turnout, didn't mention the chants about the quiet neighbours, and he was saying that the welcome he had received at our place was great and how well we had looked after him. Also wished us good luck for the rest of the season as well. Seemed a nice guy. Wished me a safe journey home........... when he had the longer journey really!!
Good luck for your season as well.
Gianfranco Zola is my second favourite manager!! If you look on our tunnel cam thread on the main website I loved the way he high fived all your player escorts and then went back down our line to high five ours as well. Such a gentleman, as we applauded him after he had been over to your fans he applauded us as well. You are lucky, but not quite as lucky as us, we have Roberto Mancini. Loved the way the songs for the two Managers kept over lapping each other!! :-)
I spoke to a few City fans pre match in the pub and all were very welcoming! Had a good feel to the day all round. The fans, players, staff all seemed to get on! Just a shame you couldn't let us have that one goal for a few seconds of celebration ;)
Zola is a top guy, who has also got us playing the ball on the floor a lot more as apposed to the old lump it football we used to play. But at the end of the day, no matter how we played, we was never going to get anything realistically. Even with a large number of players out, you still can still field a team of stars! Good to see a full stadium too... i had heard that the 3rd tier on one side wasnt going to be sold originally?
