Could be the right time to add a sub forum for the women's team/squad. It would give us all a chance to get to know them in a zero tolerance environment.
I'm fairly sure it would much appreciated by MCWFC.

I agree with this but there might no be the interest for it?
On the other hand it may well be a way of attracting more fans and broadening horizons so to speak.

I would wonder how much interest a sub board would generate. With the EDS there is interest as they could progress to the first team (which ultimately is what most people care about). The women obviously would never do that. I suspect in a sub board the number of people commenting or reading would be quite low.

Still could be worth a trial.

As the girls project improves I think the interest will be there, but it will take time. Toni D in her BT vid says as muchin that they will be judged on how much they raise interest and awareness. I can imagine its pretty exciting for the girls to be involved and hope they can really achieve.

@Karen yeah Tip Top Toni is well fit, but watching her play I appreciate her footy talent more than her great bum lol

Small point lads, the name of the team is City Women rather than City Ladies. Might seem a bit daft to some but it seems to be important to the players and some of the supporters in terms of respect so we can hopefully extend them this small courtesy as part of our extended City Family.
Good point Damo.

Toni Duggan put a vid of here for BT sport on twitter today, sorry on my tab and cant link it but its a great watch and speaks voljmes about where we are aiming.

That's a good vid. It shows that she was just as obsessed with football as a kid as the lads were. I always had a (seemingly misplaced) inkling that a lot of the womens football players were just good athletes that somehow found their way into football through other sports, as they seem to be in many of the more obscure sports.

No problem, thanks for making me aware of it.

In response to creating a different section I've considered this too and decided it wouldn't be best. This section is all about discussing City so it's best in my view to keep this thread and others like it (excluding match threads of course) where everyone can see it.

Users will will click on this thread out of curiousity and every now and then a post in this thread might change views or create interest. That's harder to do if you have a seperate section.

I really don't understand why the vast majority on here just look at them as sexual objects and can't help themselves make sleazy comments like a 70 year old man on Viagra looking at page 3 in the paper.

They are footballers, who take an enormous amount of pride in what they do, and more importantly they represent Manchester City. If you want to fawn on the Internet, there are plenty of websites for the odd desperate oggle.

These threads are for discussing their performances and prospects on the field. If you find that uncomfortable or beyond the realms of your intelligence, google Toni Duggan, print off some pictures, and have a wank.

I'm pretty sure I speak for the rest on here genuinly interested in the development of City Women and the players.

I've seen women on here make comments about how fit Negredo and Navas are. Didn't see anyone rushing to shoot them down.

You sound like Nick Griffin complaining that an Asian once gave him a dirty look - a pathetic attempt to justify prejudice.

The real talent for me is on the purity of the game - diving, cheating and showing off seem to be extinct. Technically, the game styles in women's football are improving. I think, having seen an amateur side (Aberystwyth Town FC Ladies) develop from scratch into a national league to teetering on the edge of Europe with the odd international player passing through the ranks, and the amount of effort, passion and determination, that the right time for bolder, more impressive and higher profile coverage is now - and City are a credit for pushing this venture forward. I know loads of women who watch, love, talk and play the game. Why not?

Good luck to MCWFC

Had the pleasure of sitting next to Toni's grandad Ken at last night's game.Top bloke he is,obviously totally supportive of his granddaughter but also well behind the City team despite being a die hard Liverpool fan.

Good to see the win last night and good to see the improvement in the City team. It's a tough competition whoever they play and I think the team are learning and have had to do it the hard way after the early run of defeats.Liverpool are the team to beat and whilst we didn't totally dominate or anything like it last night I felt we were their equals in so much of the game.

Once we got ahead for the second time I didn't actually feel they would equalise.I worried about it but they didn't actually come very close at all. That says a lot for the organisation and the effort put in from the whole team in closing down and forcing Liverpool back.Krystle Johnston ,normally a striker, did an excellent job filling in at full back when Harding got injured. The whole team deserve great credit for great effort.Things are looking up for the ladies.

I have to say, I'm disappointed with the girls.

Candle stocks on merseyside have already fallen to critical level and they go and beat them again?
