City's "Hard Men"

Only hard men we have now are Dinho and Ruben

I do have a slight chuckle when I hear the term 'hard men' being used in football as an avid RL fan though. Doesn't really compare

I’m sure he was injured for this game……remember seeing him outside after the game.
Pretty sure Franny wasn’t our chairman by the time we were in the old third division

He may not have been chairman, was Bernstein, but, he was still enjoying his food and red wine nevertheless.

Im a member of a few 80s football fb groups and i always think it gets a bit weird when they have ‘was billy whitehurst the hardest man in football’ etc.

it always ends up very homo erotic

I thought this was another thread about the Governors, Cool Cats, etc

I always have affection for these types of City player. Bought kits of Nigel and Zaba because of it. Kolarov was nails but never had much opportunity to display his steel simply because opponents always knew not to F with him.

A player who never gets respect for his toughness was Dzeko. In fact I recall some blues who would deride him for a perceived lack of mettle. To me, he was a boy raised in a war zone who grew up playing as a boy in men's leagues and had no fear. My fondest memory of him (aside from his crucial goal against QPR and the great day that was the Sick-Swan) was after Balotelli's infamous wink, Mario got immediately mobbed and surrounded by reds. It was Big Ed who was the first man to fly into the scum to back up his man. I'll always love Dzeko for that.
