City's worst manager of all time

Mark Hughes is an odd one to judge, since the mid 70s we have only really had Peter Reid who had anything like the same situation coming into the job. People like Clark, Coppell, Neil and even to some extent Ball(who was the worst for my money)took over clubs in real trouble. Hughes took over a top 10 club with money and failed, so although record-wise it seems laughable having him high on the list, there is without double a case.

Not even in the top 6.

I agree jimharri Definately not in the top 6.

Mercer and Mancinin 1 and 2.....(either way take your pick)

Hughes bottom along with Ball, Clarke, Coppel and Neale
Don't be sarky; you know what I meant! He's not in the top 6 of worst managers we've had.

Sorry old boy, no offence intended, I do however thoroughly disagree with your view not in the bottom six.

What were his endearing qualities? I genuinely cannot think of one, not one single positive did he bring to the club. His good signings only came good once he left.

Had he stayed I can almost guarantee Hart would have gone and we would have not been within a country mile of the Premiership.

Can only really pass jugdment on the last 20 years, but in that time i would have to say Alan Ball, followed by stuart pearce.

Stuart Pearce. Fucking terminally stupid imbecile. Seen City relegated 5 times. This arsehole kept us up with the worst football we ever played. Can't believe anyone is stupid enough to employ this talentless prick.

To be honest I was only a kid when Alan ball and frank Clarke were in charge. I only started truly following city when royle was manager.

Pearce wasn't great but he wasn't the worst. Considering the money spent I would say Hughes has to be the poorest closely followed by Sven. Apart from the derby double it was a very poor season with plenty of money spent.

Keegan started off well but landed the club in millions of debt and left Pearce with a shit team.

Pearce definitely I absolutely hated that ****, remember when we went down to carrington and got autographs from everyone even Anelka, Pearce just ignored everyone, he wasn't manager at that point but it still marked him out as a prick. I used to idolise him as a kid aswell.

Coppell was a spineless twat who jumped ship when he didn't have the balls for it but overall, Ball caused more long term damage than any other manger we've ever had.
