When Scotland were about the vote the EU said they'd be kicked out of the EU if they were independent of the UK. This is something I dislike greatly about the EU. They influence decisions that people should be able to make by themselves.

If EU the think that an independant scotland would not be members of the EU (and they should know its their club), then thats not undue influence just a statement of fact.
Surely the people need all the facts to make an informed decision.
Thats why the Brexit vote was bollocks, there was no facts as to what Brexit would look like, hence all the bollocks and chaos now

Some of the leavers I know think it's bollocks and chaos too, maybe not for the same reasons as me, but I think they are coming round to wishing they hadn't bothered.

What about the French side of the Catalonian divide, the area around Perpignan and westward are Catalan as well. Can't see the French letting that area slide....

and if we leave but have unlimited immigration to keep access to the single market, that would be fine to would it?
We would still have left and therefore would still have done what the referendum called for.

I don't know one leaver who woy=uld change their vote but I do know a few remainers who just want us to get on with it, anecdotal evidence isn't the same as a vote. Some remainers have their heads in the clouds and as I said this is how I expected it to go.
The Catalonians and Spain are going to go through something similar but with real genuine violence, federal EU is breeding nationalism not curbing it.

No it wouldn't be fine and it isn't going to be fine, there's an echo chamber sounding the same bell over and over again and it wont make it so. Control of our borders and the protection of British citizens (That includes jobs) should be paramount in the minds of our government.

The EU didn't say Scotland wouldn't be a member they said they would need to re apply. The difference is an Independent Scotland would have been recognised by the UK government, where as under this referendum, an independent Catalan wouldn't be recognised by Spain and therefore probably not by the EU either.
