CL Final Venue | Stade de France named as new venue

It would have to be at a Rugby Stadium if in Edinburgh. Murrayfield has its advantages apart from the running track in front of the stand, but it’s not on UEFA’s list of approved stadia. A shame but it will not be in Edinburgh.
Does anyone have a current list of the Uefa approved stadia for the final please? Surely the Etihad is on it as its a top class venue.

My view of Russia is based on the fact that there is no opposition for Putin, he does not allow it.

At least in our country we can get rid of those in power if we want a change.

It is the Russian people that I feel sorry for nothing much has changed in that country since the rule of the Tsar's.
Much has changed. But as per Ric's comment, let's stick to the football interesting as this topic is.

Hearts have staged Euro ties at Murrayfield so I thought it would be OK for the final. Hope one day to see City at Tynecastle clash of my two favourite clubs.

Not read all this thread but they’re saying it can’t be Wembley as it’s playoff weekend, those games could be moved to the Lego Arena up here. About 30k tickets per club would be more than enough (10k for the hangers on).

Isn’t one of the qualifying criteria that the stadium holds 60,000+?

I guess last year was a one off due to the restrictions.

Needs to be a Category 4 stadium with a capacity not less than 60,000 but preferably over 70,000.

Out of the frying pan, into the firing line.

Was there a champions league final in Istanbul or were they all cancelled? Surely that has to be one of the front runners if they go screwed over by covid
Next few seasons are already known.

2023 Istanbul, 2024 Wembley and 2025 Munich. They've changed around the order a few times becuase of Covid in the last couple of years but I think they'd be reluctant to do so again. Its quite a time consuming exercise for the branding of "Road to St Petersburg" and that will be used for the remainder of the season regardless of where it ends up getting played, and they will have already begun making the Istanbul 2023 stuff so I dont think that one will change.

If I was a betting man I would say Budapest.

Others that might be in with a shout in my opinion would be;
Athens, Berlin, Cardiff, Lyon, Marseille, Paris (St Denis), Rome, or Seville (La Cartuja).

There are reasons for and against UEFA awarding it to any of those. If PSG go out before they make a decision, I suspect the chance of one of the French cities hosting would increase (Marseille fans would create their own WW3 if PSG had the chance to win it at their stadium).

Be funny if Spud’s stadium got whacked in category 2.

Lyon and La Cartuja are under 60k capacity so I suspect that would rule them out. I know they're only just under 60k but UEFA are on record as saying they prefer over 70k so I suspect 60k would be the absolute lower limit.

Would be surprised if they had the final in Istanbul this year, they're due to have it next year in 2023 which is down for being part of their celebration of 100 years being a republic.

I think it's a preference rather than a strict requirement. And they're both on the cusp of 60k anyway.

FWIW I don't like La Cartuja or any of the other options that have an athletic track but given the UEFA contingent are in Seville that week anyway for the Europa League final, I think it's somewhere they might consider.

They can fuck right off with this!

No way would uefa have it in the same city as the biggest game in the world on the same day. They wouldn’t like to be outshone by the championship
