CL Quarter Final Draw - Liverpool A Apr 4th - H Apr 10th

We'll see how much we missed having Silva and Jesus in the starting 11 against the dippers, I have a feeling we'll get at them better and control the game better. Forget the ground and the "intimidating atmosphere" it's only a factor if we allow it to be.

Vincent Kompany too

Hopefully we've learnt from the league game. They'll have spells when they're at it and the crowd are into it. We just need to take the sting out of it for 5 mins or so. Just pass them to sleep.

And we need a strong ref. The first one to clatter Silva has to go in the book or it could be a long night.

I too hope the Ref. is fair. Hope both teams can finish with 11 players on the field. God - can't wait for this game. I will be nervous - as usual.

Can't see any reason to change the team for this now. Maybe Bernardo for Sterling if Pep thinks Raz will let the occasion get the better of him. Possibly a decision to be made at left back but other than that same team for me.

We look ready for them. Never confident playing Liverpool, Home or Away. It’s about time we put these away at Anfield. Saying that, we don’t even need to win. A score draw would be a good result. I think we will beat them at home.

Bizarrely we don't actually need to win a single CL game from here to actually win the thing.

Barring on penalties in the final obviously.

I thought there was a ridiculous amount of reverse psychology today.

I didn't even know what formation City were playing. If anyone does please send your answers on a postcard.

I thought the Sterling substitution was reverse psychology. It was to give the impression that he would start on Wednesday. Klopp would instruct his players likewise. But the whole Liverpool game plan will go out the window when they see Sterling won't be starting an hour before KO on Wednesday. I'd be shocked if Sterling starts on Wednesday - he's never had a decent game against Liverpool. The two Silva's are suited to the Champions League, drawing tactical fouls and picking the holes in the Liverpool defence.

Has the ref been announced yet, if not when?

Expecting Liverpool to turn into Barca 2011 and Dortmund 2013 on Wednesday.

We really have to be on it.

We can’t be giving silly goals away.

I'd like Pep to mix things up a bit for the away leg. The rags and Palace showed how much joy you can have if you play the ball in behind their defence and have your fast players run onto it. They just can't deal with it. I think if we try and play our normal game they will close us down like men possessed and do us on the counter.

Agree.
So based on that, would you favour picking Sterling over B Silva?
Mind you I think Walker is even faster than Sterling is - maybe we should put him up there ;-)

Yeah I'd play Sterling. I know he's been shite against the dippers but he is full of confidence right now and I think he has something to prove.
