CL stand closures v BMG and Celtic

40-odd thousand season ticket holders. The cup scheme is voluntary so some fans pick and choose their games. Some of the most loyal fans I've known down the years don't always bother with CL games. Take the 2 mates I sit with - 2 of us have been ST holders since 1990 and 1 since the late 80's save for a 12 month ban he got a couple of seasons back. One of them hardly ever does CL games due to the extra cost whilst the other attends a fair few but isn't on the cup scheme these days so picks and chooses his CL matches. There will be numerous other examples of fans like the two I've mentioned but it would be unfair to label them as "shit" fans because they've put more than enough time and effort into following the club and often at far less glamorous fixtures than CL group games. It's worth noting that if United's CL cup scheme wasn't compulsory then tens of thousands of their ST holders wouldn't bother attending CL games either. Simply put, when you've played numerous games in the competition the kudos of being in it begins to wear off, and drawing the same teams almost every year doesn't help either.
But I bet they'll still expect to get a ticket for the final in Cardiff.

Fair enough mate if you can't be arsed.

As I said, I can for some and not for others but I wouldn't worry about missing out if I didn't. I wouldn't have been arsed with Kiev last season had I not had a ticket. I wouldn't expect to get a ticket for Cardiff and rightly so.

I know plenty of people who "Haven't been arsed" since the very first season we were in it. Its just the way it is. Always a touchy subject for some.

No they won't. Whether they get one or not is another matter.
Well that will make a change. Every final City have got to since 2011 there's been season ticket holders whinging about not being able to get a ticket. Or about being further down the pecking order than the cup scheme members.

I think the real debate here is why is our support so shit. I know I'll get a reply from someone who travels 600 miles to every home game and has to take 2 days off work before I say this. But at the price they've set the tickets at for these matches I can't believe any season ticket holder wouldn't go to these matches.
we have always been fickle always. 84 000 against stoke and some gates hovering around the 20,000 mark in the same season, at least it keeps prices lowish, but by the way i think all the cl group matches will sell out inc to tier s s
