CL Ticket availability

My lad's a student - his tkts were £75 on the cup scheme - less than a tenners difference not worth getting upset about - unless you're determined to see negatives in everything the club do.

This really is total shit isn't it. I paid £114 for my 3.

I am not joining this next year. I will decide on the days if I want to go. Not like i wouldnt get a ticket.Maybe I'll register for college course and see if that helps!
The price of CL tickets & students getting cheap tickets are two different issues (mods - separate!).
I paid through the CL scheme & think the prices have been pretty reasonable. It's the Champions League FFS!
Regarding students being able to buy cheap tickets, you can guarantee that these are not going to be premium seats. I'm sure if anyone really wanted to they could get hold of these student tickets without too much trouble (just download or borrow some ID). However, I think this is a good initiative by the club to fill seats that wouldn't otherwise be sold with people who wouldn't otherwise go.
Students who come to Manchester often don't have an affinity with any local team so we may as well try & get them supporting City! The rags also offer cheap tickets to students.

So selling them cheaply to folk with no affinity to the club is OK ? I do understand your point but don't agree Phil.

BTW ,justifying it by saying the rags do it doesn't do a lot to persuade me it's a good thing either ;.)

The difference between £99 and £75 isn't less than a tenner lol

That's not the comparison I made.

Your lad is a student on the cup scheme so he gets a reduction for being a student and then for loyally signing up. That's fair enough but I think some people might be pissed at paying £35-£45 quid more than someone who perhaps might not have every given city a second thought before

Forgive us though for questioning the club and feeling abit miffed

Yep, some people might. But it was a good deal - club probably surprised at lack of uptake and selling off off the shit seats. Tiered pricing is going to be much more prevalent in future so paying more or less than others is something we'll have to used to.

Yes but if many drop out of the schemes then they can't be surprised. People aren't stupid and will wait for the cheap tickets

The plzen game doesn't appeal to me at all now and I may give my tickets away. That would mean the two games I attended would have effectively cost £57 each.

Unless we draw 3 top sides next year then I will be picking and choosing.

I sacrificed away games the other year, CC a year ago and platinum this year and CL scheme will go next year.

I may just buy ST and drop all schemes as tickets are easy to come by if I want to go.

I can't see much interest in that game unless they drop it to a fiver and put out a decent team ( which won't happen because of fixture congestion)

for the last 2 champs league games, bayern,n Moscow, they were both in block 138 the family stand,i'll know by thurs when a mate will buy his 3 or 4 for him n his pals where the plezen ones are ,prob block 138 no doubt, they're all all NON students btw,I don't blame him or anyone for getting them cheap this way, just PISSES me off big time that city would rather do this after offering us season ticket holders a so called cheap bundle ,anyway,i wont be doing it again.

I can tell you this as been going on for years, the same bloke who can get these " student " ticket via his wife who works in a college, got them or could get them for all but the top prem games up until the last 2 season before, it annoys me so much cos I know they end up in NON STUDENT hands.
