But also why is it relevant? I can’t believe it’s 2024 and people are still thinking that claiming to be religious makes you moral. Like Paula Vennells, for example.

Probably claimed conversion to say that it would now be more dangerous to go back home.
 
Clearly we have a fucking loophole that scumbags take advantage of, hope the public get hold of this piece of shit and take his other eye before the police get him. People need sacking who granted him asylum and an inquest that doesn't just lead to ''lessons have been learned'' fuming.
 
He wasn't imprisoned for the sexual assault so he wouldn't have fallen within the automatic deportation rules. And it doesn't appear from the information in the public domain that he would have fallen within the non automatic criteria either.

The offence is described as sexual assault/exposure. Sounds like indecent exposure from that brief description.

Not sure that deportation could always be justified for one off incidents of "flashing" if the offender was at serious risk of persecution.

We also can't deport people to countries unilaterally. The country of origin has to accept them.

Not sure how he could have been deported to Taliban controlled Afghanistan in the last 30 months.

Unfortunately the reality is that asylum claims will be made by scumbags and criminals and some will be successful.

During the 1990s many Albanians managed to pretend to be from Kosovo.

If you buy a consumer product, it has a failure rate above zero. The current system probably has a high fraud rate because of cuts, underfunding and because immigration is being used as a political football.
 
The thing that really gets me they is someone somewhere will be saying he needs his rights protecting if the country try to deport him. Why as a society do we look after the scum of this world. Can’t send murders back home in case they get tortured.

Listened to a podcast yesterday about the death penalty and how people campaign to stop as it puts the prisoner in pain before death. One example was someone who shot a woman in the head then shot her brother 5 times leaving him to die in pain. They complained the lethal injection would cause the killer a painful death.
