That's the license fee going up or a lot of job cuts. I'd say the license fee increase.

By what contortion of logic do you come to the conclusion that the sacking of one boarish oaf will result in either an increase in the licence fee or lots of job cuts?

Top gear is the BBC's biggest export. It earns the station hundreds of millions a year. Clarkson like it or not is Top Gear. The BBC will hire someone new but the show will die a slow death and especially once Clarkson has got a new show and all the viewers flock over to watch it. The BBC will be having crisis meetings for weeks on the cost of sacking Clarkson make no mistake about it.

Clarkson is the golden goose for the BBC. RIP to having a laugh with blokey fun and antics. Long live PC. Well done Dan Cohen.

I do believe he had to go, you can't punch a colleague no matter who you are.

I've done it a few times over the years, bring back the 80's I say PC's gone mad I say MAD!

I liken his dismissal to the Suarez biting Incident, manufacture a situation where your current employer has to release you from your contract to avoid the drama associated with doing nothing, then piss off to where you really want to be...!

Er, no.

That'd be the licence fee payers who are forced to give the BBC £3.5 billion per year to avoid getting a fine and a criminal record.

Compared to that vast amount of money the Top Gear profits are chicken feed.

More than any other show they've got though, I say bin all none profit making shows and get rid of the licence free, job sorted.

Might be watching so right shit though.

What's stopping Clarkson just making a similiar show on a different channel? And make huge profits there?

Absolutely nothing is the answer.
And if he makes something else I will be watching it.
But the BBC gorgers and overpaid talentless "Stars" on long term contracts can continue to milk us and live off us.

nobody cares anymore boys.
Clarkson is today's chip wrapper.

so back to your train sets and go faster stripes.

The guys image is based on his ability to say whatever he thinks but the truth is he's been protected by the BBC for all these years that's the only reason he has got away with it.

Anyone else would have been sacked years ago.

Posh twit who wouldn't piss on any bluemooner if you were on fire so don't forget it.

Think you need to do a little bit of research mate, your making yourself look silly...

I don't agree "He is top gear" I know he's been doing it a long time, and I have enjoyed quite a lot of the shows over the years. I quite enjoy watching anybody talk about anything they have a passion in, as he clearly does.

For me, the show is way more than him. The camerawork, the soundtracks, the locations, the races, the challenges etc. Sounds some people are in love with him. I don't know if they'll get anybody else in, but he is entirely replaceable.
