Classic Rock (Phil Collins lives, run for the hills)

Yeah the live concert is superb. Their first 4 albums are all worth a listen. In fact their first 4 albums would compare favourably to most artists in any era (not that I expect everybody to agree with that!)
And this is why I started an A to Z exactly for conversations like this. Nice one Rob

Also, whilst we are on “C”, anybody else like Calexico? They are a band that I’ve listened to a lot over the last 20 years or so and their albums are worth a listen.

They play a brand of dusty desert rock laced with accordion and other Mexican/American South-west sounds. I’d say they sound pretty unique and they do change their sound slightly with each album. Their last three studio albums have been recorded in New Orleans, Mexico City and Northern California and you can hear the influences without being too obvious.

EDIT - Also Counting Crows and Sheryl Crow.

Got a couple of Calexico albums and they're good but you should also try Giant Sand who pre-date Calexico

Not alphabetically in order for the thread, but the benefit of any UK based Rush fans on here, the 2022 Eurocon is Sat 19 Feb next year in Chester.
It’s reduced to a 1 day event, but includes 3 live bands, the best of which, based on my prelim research seem to be Moving Pictures, a Scottish based act.
They produced a really moving (pun intended) tribute version of Afterimage, which I’ve linked here. Heresy to say it, but I actually think it’s even better than the original!
I’ll give it a bump nearer the time, but if anyone else fancies it, get it on the calendar.

I've got a couple of Calexico albums. Not played them in ages but they good.

I also have several Sheryl Crow albums and have seen her in concert so not sure why she hasn't appeared on my list.

I love her self-titled 1996 album and The Globe Sessions from 1998. Saw her at the MEN arena in 1997 - a weird setup where it was half the arena with a curtain across the middle.

Need to check out Giant Sand. I knew about them but have never listened for some reason. Only so much time I guess. Might give them a listen this week.
