If we can have Thr Bangles ( love Susanna) then surely we can have
The Breeders
And what about
The Boomtown Rats
Bell X1
Blink

I wouldn’t call them classic rock but neither are The Bangles.

Tell me why, I don’t like Manic Mondays.

It was me that started it eamo.
only for a bit of fun and of course it’s an open thread.
I am happy just to keep the thread going.
Anyway letter C coming up soon :-)

A to Z of Classic Rock
The letter C and I will persevere in the hope it stimulates conversation.

after two classic rock bands I’m changing tact here and going for Crowded House.
I just love their simply yet catches tunes with often great lyrics from Neil Finn.
The Woodface album is like a greatest hits package and the the Farewell to the World live DVD filmed outside Sydney Opera house is a great watch. I’m fortunate to have seen them live.

Circa are a Yes offshoot band. Only got the one CD imaginately titled 2007. Members included Alan White,Tony Kaye and Billy Sherwood. Give the track “Cut the Ties” a spin.

Once upon a time I saw Cinderella along with Little Angels -typical poodle rock but it was close to home for shits and giggles.

also we have
Camel, Caravan, Celtic Frost, Cheap Trick, Chicago, Clannad, Coheed and Cambria, The Corrs, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Cream and Creed amongst others.

No argument with Crowded House. I wouldn’t classify them as Classic Rock, but they sit behind Springsteen and Mellencamp at #3 in my all-time artist list. Saw them 4 times live, including once on the Woodface tour and once on the Together Alone tour.

Even saw an impromptu mini-concert in HMV where they played a few songs acoustic and were fantastic. Neil Finn is one of the greatest songwriters of the past 40 years.

I love Woodface, but I’d go for Together Alone as their best album.

Ah Distant Sun is fab as is Private Universe.
I’ve got Woodface, Recurring Dream and the self titled debut along with the previously mentioned DVD.

Yeah the live concert is superb. Their first 4 albums are all worth a listen. In fact their first 4 albums would compare favourably to most artists in any era (not that I expect everybody to agree with that!)
