Classic Rock (Phil Collins lives, run for the hills)

Not sure it’s Classic Rock
but always liked EBTG.
A lot of their stuff is a collaboration with the likes of Massive Attack. Love this.

The Eagles would be my favourite out of this small batch, especially with Joe Walsh in the band. Remember seeing them on the original Hotel California tour at the Cowshed and everyone sat on the floor until Joe whipped out Rocky Mountain Way. Seen them a few times since and had tickets to see the latest Hotel California tour until they pulled the Wembley gigs.

Some may consider Steve Earle country but lots of his stuff rocks. A great songwriter.

Elp are simply titans of prog. Emerson is arguably rock’s greatest ever keyboard maestro. Carl Palmer remains a superb drummer.

Keith Emerson undoubtedly is the daddy of them all. Wakeman and Banks I liked but Emerson was by far the greatest talent.

I first got into rock music thanks to my dad.
He was a classical fan but listened to Journey to the Centre of Earth. I heard it and loved it. Then I found out that Rick Wakeman was in a band called Yes then boom.
Wakeman is king of the Keys for me

Rick is probably my #2 as a player - as opposed to composer. I think Emerson is slightly more gifted technically, not that I am a musician of any kind. Certainly, Emerson seemed to be able to play anything rock / pop, classical, jazz with equal aplomb.
