Phil Collins is one of the best musicians of the late 20th century, I pity idiots who jump on bandwagons.
Then you have fine taste Sir.Crime of the Century, The Grand Illusion and Fountains of Light are among my most favoured albums.
It took me until two three years ago to actually get round to buying Fish Out of Water and discovering what a superb album it is.
I actually only bought Lovedrive a couple of weeks ago; although I was familiar with several of the tracks on it.
Scorpions World Wide Live still provides over an hour over high quality listening pleasure :-)Great riches here.
Loved Supertramp era from Crime of the Century up to Breakfast in America.
Styx were fab with Pieces of Eight and The Grand Illusion.
Scorpions up to and including Lovedrive.
Also a special mention to Starcastle for Fountains of Light.
If I had to pick one it would be Supertramp by a gnats bollock from Styx because my dear wife loved them .
Special shout to Chris Squire and his wonderful solo album Fish out of Water.
Tokyo Tapes is very good too.Scorpions World Wide Live still provides over an hour over high quality listening pleasure :-)
I was a bit disappointed with the Crowded House one. The rest I haven’t heard / of. I do like a bit of Americana so will try some of them.My top 10 albums of the year. Definitely more Americana than classic rock:-
1. Nowhere Sounds Lovely - Cristina Vane
2. A Southern Gothic - Adia Victoria
3. Electro Melodier - Son Volt
4. Renewal - Billy Strings
5. Songs from the Sea of Cortez - Old Californio
6. Dreamers Are Waiting - Crowded House
7. Click Click Domino - Ida Mae
8. The Last Exit - Still Corners
9. Acorn - Trippers and Askers
10. Blue Heron Suite - Sarah Jarosz
It's certainly nothing like as good as their heyday. To be honest, the 5 albums above them in the list are all worthwhile and the rest just make up the numbers due to a few good tracks here and there.I was a bit disappointed with the Crowded House one.
