Clattenburg (Update p59 - not selected next weekend)

I seem to remember him saying that about a ref, but whether it was Clattenburg I'm not so sure..

Done a bit of digging, I've got the time, and I think Zaba's been sent off 3 times for us..

The 1st was v Liverpool at home in 2008 for a rash challenge on Alonso. Ref was Peter Walton.

The 2nd was v Wigan away 2009 for 2 debatable yellows. Ref was Alan Wiley.

The 3rd was v Arsenal and it was rescinded.. Ref was Mike Jones.

It might not have been in any of these matches and it might also have been the 4th official who was alleged to have said it...?

I'd like to find the original story though as it's doing my nut in now who it was!

was bolton game when bellamy got sent off....he told his lines man to watch zabba (reference to argentina was made allegedly)

Yeah that was the game, he apparently said it in the tunnel whilst waiting for the teams to come out for the second half

Clattenburg has form

Anyone who doubts Clattenburg is bent must have forgotten the incident when he was overheard slagging Bellamy and Pab Zab off to his assistants in the tunnel at half time at the Reebok last year. He told his officials to 'keep an eye on them two bastards in particular'. Zab was on the bench. Within minutes, he had sent Bells off for absolutely nothing

I've been told that he's definitely guilty of using racist comments towards Mikel but proving it is going to very difficult.

The thing that makes me laugh though is the amount of Chelsea players that heard the comment used towards Mikel yet heard nothing when Terry shouted across the pitch at Ferdinand?...........weird eh?

I've done a piece for the Daisy Cutter on the whole Chelsea/Clattenburg thing - goes up tonight I think. I'll get Ste to stick a link on here. Think you'll enjoy it ... :)

That's just farcical. That allows, as has happened in this case, someone who wasn't involved in an incident, who didn't suffer from it, hear it, see it, or have any clue whatsoever what has happened to cry "racist" because they perceive something they've absolutely no idea about to be racist!

That is exactly what happened to Terry and I was ridiculed on this site (and by most who I had this debate with at the time) for raising these exact concerns. But because it was John Terry, justice and fairness wasn't really an issue for most people and the witch hunt mentality took over. Now the can of worms is well and truly open and the racism issue in football devolves into, as you put it, a farce.

Technically the person who complained about Terry was in the crowd and stated they had seen/heard Terry use racist language. They weren't the victim (that was Ferdinand) but they did claim to have actually witnessed the event. In this instance the Society of Black Lawyers openly admit they were nowhere near Stamford Bridge and have absolutely zero proof/personal involvement in the incident. So a little different.

He's not corrupt.

He's just shit at his job and has too much of an ego to be a competent referee IMO
