It was a heavy touch and a mistake but he recovered well and it was never a penalty.
Of course a heavy touch is a mistake. What else is it - let's just sell our midfield and buy a non league midfield that can't trap a bag of cement on that basis. It was 100 percent an error
Tbf it really is mistake, he didn't intend to try and trap it 6 feet away and let Rooney have a sniff, not sure how you stand on his two footed lunge on the twat mistake or not ? I thought we were lucky to get away with it myself.
A very very very poor one.
Two footed?
Not really. He keeps the ball very, very well. If a better shot stopper was in net, who frequently gave the ball away(Cech, Hart for example) then we would face more shots and potentially let even more goals in
Was it not two footed, ah well it was months and months ago, should we call it a lunge on Rooney then ?
Maybe, it's debatable I guess but then it's so inconsistent from refs these days it's difficult to say one way or the other.
For me it's a perfectly good challenge.
No - that point is absolutely valid and the more we ping it at him the more mistakes he will make (as will anyone) unfortunately last line of defence makes it more obvious. But ultimately it was still an errorFair enough, you're right. What gets me though is you see heavy touches from players all the time, I guess as a keeper you don't get the same leeway for this particular type of mistake as others.
He does have a valid point though. You might not agree which is fine, but he is right to point out that giving the ball away needelessly through the good old hoof, would invite more pressure which is now not our style of playJesus, really, is this the best you can do in his defence.
It is okay if he lets every shot in as long as we keep the shots down to an absolute minimum lol
