If we had a better shot stopper (mentioning no names) then we'd almost certainly have a keeper who isn't as successful in the style of play which has lead to us conceding less shots. We'd either be back to hoofing the ball to our opposition nearly every time or the keeper wouldn't have the ability to play the kind of passes required to maintain possession in a small space on a consistent basis.
I thought the comment you responded to originally was about people "in the game" rating him? I'm not being snide - and correct me if I'm wrong - when I assume you don't have any connections and aren't in a position to speak on their behalf. Neither do I but the facts suggest otherwise.
I get that blues aren't arsed about what he achieved before he came to us, but I highly doubt that the professionals he's worked with and against have the short memories of those on here. They've seen him day in day out, he still captains his national team, they voted for him as one of the best in the world and they speak in nothing other than respectful terms. Unless you're talking about the Soccer Saturday panel who I wouldn't classify as being "in the game".
