Claudio Bravo Injury - Muric Recalled from NAC Breda

if you don't class weak attempts at saves as errors, then I'm not sure where to start. If a goalkeeper can't save simple shots then that's an error. He's made loads of them.

When I'm not in work I'll come back to this one, but I don't think I said 'leading to goals' specifically, that's your additional caveat.
I think at one point in his first year he had maybe the 3rd worst shot to save ratio int he league. So depends if you want to get into semantics about what classes as an "error".
I'd say the majority of his attempted saves were shit and cost us a lot of points.

But maybe that's just me

If you do class weak attempts at saves as errors then I don't know where to start.

Do you class weak attempts at goal as errors?

Yet again Tommcfc speaking the truth and yet again the City happy clappers refusing to have any of it. I often wondered in Bravo's first season, why the fuck he bothered wearing goalie gloves, so seldom did he actually save a ball. The clappers can quote stats all they like. Anyone with eyes could see that Bravo at one point couldn't save shit.

Wrong Tom. Nobody is dusputing he couldn't save shit, in fact my whole argument was that that was his issue and not errors as others are suggesting.

Bravo is not a shit goalkeeper.
However he's not been great either,he had a season in an alien league as 1st choice and didnt play as well as we all hoped/expected.

To be fair he has improved, slightly,on his 1st season.
Still makes simple errors from time to time that must affect the confidence the defence has in him.
Caballero time at the club was very similar imo.
All that said, hope he fully recovers and,as a back up goalkeeper will be missed.

Just a question for everyone who believes he is not even worthy of being a backup. Who do you honestly think is a suitable & realistic replacement? I look at all the top teams in England and Europe and I don't know where people get the expectation that we should have a better keeper as backup?

Bravo has to be near the top of the list of backup keepers in all of Europe. I am so tired of people listing all the mistakes hes made for us. ALL backup keepers have clear flaws, that's why they aren't starting keepers. If they didn't have any clear flaws no way would they sit on a bench when they could easily get playing time somewhere else. Courtois is the only example I can think of and I wouldn't be surprised if he already isn't considering whether he made a mistake moving to Real.

No offence but I can’t agree. Anyone that has watched bravo at City knows his signing has been one great big failure. Yes he has nice footwork at times but his goalkeeping has generally been awful.

I would say most teams in the premier league have a better back up keeper.

I do however wish him a good and strong recovery but do hope his next game is for someone else and that we bring in some quality back up in January.

I'm not in a witch hunt here for Bravo, I like the guy, and he has accepted his role as 2nd keeper to Eddy fantastically and is helping bring him on and improving him.

However, the slight errors he makes in games do unsettle the defense. One of which i attribute to John Stones losing his confidence and spoiling his 2nd half of last season. The game in question was Stones return against Bristol City. Earlier in the game Bravo conceded an unnecessary corner (similar to Cech against us last week). This nervousness unsettled the back four. later in the game JS came over to the left back area to sweep up a high ball, but rather than his usual action (with Eddy in net) a simple pass back to the keeper, his lack of faith in Bravo (in my opinion) lead him to (wrongly) hoof the ball in the air, which led to a goal for Bristol. JS lost his mojo from there on in and took a long time to recover.

That said, Bravo has played some fantastic games for us and pulled off some amazing saves and spectacular distribution.

Get well soon Claudio

I support the main points of this article (can’t really support the statement re John Stones as I can’t remember the actual incident even though I was at both home and away games) but I totally agree with the last paragraph. Bravo has been a model pro always supporting the team and never undermining the club (unlike a few “fans favourites” after they have left and one particular whilst he was here)
All the very best, Claudio. Get well soon
