Clint Dempsey.

Losing out on Hazard and RVP looking less likley, what do you think of Dempsey?

Proven in the Prem, quick, and an eye for goal. ??

He is an outstanding player - 21 goals in all competitions last season for a mid table team would indicate that he is a half decent striker - and his goal tally could only increase playing for City

However because he aint valued at 30 plus million demands a 150K a week salary and have a high profile twat of a manager he aint worth considering.

Tevez
Aguero
Ballo
Dempsey

Decent really decent set of strikers assume Dzeko leaves of course which seems probable

This man knows his onions.

I like Dempsey, think he's hugely under-rated and there'd be a lot more interest if he wasn't American.

The fact that he is american should be a positive given that we are trying to break new markets, US has a lot of potential revenue for us.

And i like clint, solid hard working box to box midfielder. Id take him for 10 mil or less. No more thought.

I didn't mean the club would be put off because he's American, more that fans are less likely to speculate about him because he's not called Leonardo Vancelli or something similarly exotic.

See him as more of a creative midfielder / auxiliary striker than a box-to-box. He'd play in one of the front four positions for us rather than deeper like Yaya or Barry.

One thing about him is he isn't afraid to get stuck in and play a gritty game. He would be an interesting change-up in a similar way to Tevez without being batshit insane.

Another thing, as was mentioned, would be not just from a footballing aspect but a commercial aspect. The coverage the QPR match and the last derby got over here was rather phenomenal. People actually know there is another "Manchester" club besides the scum. ESPN shows like Sportscenter, PTI, etc couldn't get enough of the QPR match. Our name's been splashed around a lot lately and if we suddenly sign one of the best and most recognisable American players out there, we've just sold a few thousand more shirts. Add to that he is actually more than half decent and something completely different than what we already have, there are very few disadvantages to this were it to happen. We could probably get him for £12million and sign him for £100k a week. He wants Champions League. I say do.

100k a week? What?

60 at the absolute most.
