Clive the rag Tyldesley

This might have been mentioned in the England vs Switzerland thread but I've only just logged on today.

When James Milner came on, the twat that is Clive Tyldesley announced that it was his 50th England cap.

He then followed up with something along the lines of "To put that into context, Trevor Brooking didn't manage to earn 50 caps but James Milner has."

What a complete shithouse of a man. Why the fuck would a commentator say this? His utter bias is a disgrace, he's worse than Tyler.

I don't remember him announcing when Beckham got his 100th cap that people like Nat Lofthouse, Geoff Hurst, Bryan Robson, Alan Ball and Gary Lineker hadn't managed to earn 100 caps.

Utter c**t.

the mans a complete tosser, typical glory hunting rag. plastic paddy townsend should be no where near England games - Its ENGLAND FFS

I was shocked at this disrespectful comment, very unprofessional. The question should be why Trevor Brooking didn't earn more caps seeing as England were absolutely dire in the mid to late 70s.

Brooking was probably injured in between his 50 caps .
You can't compare Brooking and Milner though .
That's like comparing Lineker and Rooney . And Clive wouldn't compare Wayne with Gary

Perhaps as Clive likes stats and comparisons so much he should tell us why when around 20m people watched the WC Final live in the UK recently only around 10% chose his and Townsend's witty and insightful presentation of the game over the BBC's alternative?

Explain that one smartass.

Funny thing is because of the "unique way the BBC is funded" its likely that this berk gets paid far more than a BBC commentator would - however on that showing he should only get 10% of the equivalent BBC talent to illustrate his pull on the viewing public !!

Even then I'd say he was over valued.

Question why is it ITV audiences are so poor when there is a choice? Can't be the ad's as SKY is riddled with ads and they get viewers - could it be - here's the controversial statement - perhaps ITV are just no good at covering sport? Their technical know how, choice of "talent" to present, "experts" and just the ( dated ) look of the thing turn most people off !!??

Funny enough I always seem to remember him being often injured, yet his playing stats show he regularly played over 40 games a season throughout his career. Only 78/79 & 82/83 were real issues.

He was injured at the World Cup in 1982 He only came on the pitch for Spain match as a sub . So he missed 4 games at that World Cup . Did Brooking retire after 1983 ? . To me Brooking was a really silky player .

What crimson so conveniently forgets is that there are far more internationals played nowadays than when Brooking et al played.

Utter, utter wanker!

I know it's a Crimson Clive bashing thread, but I'm struggling to see why that comment shoud be interpreted as an insult to Milner?

Surely he's suggesting that despite the hyperbole flung around about the Lampards and Beckhams reaching the hundreds, it's still quite a feat especially considering that people as good as Brooking couldn't manage it?
