Club Badge (merged)

The best one I've seen

Yes that badge is the best i've seen so far
I suppose it's all about opinions but that is horrible.

Why on earth would you put the eagle within a circular badge?

The one about 5 pages back with the maroon in the shield was the nicest one so far.

I'm not a huge fan of including the eagle, but I just chuck out designs to try and match what people ask to see.

I come to like the eagle and our younger supporters have seen nothing else so for me it's the best one that has part of the eagle on it without being main focus

Thanks mate. I'm not sure it works as well as the "Glass door" one for me, but good to see my ideas given life! -)
The eagle is fine but not the ship with the rear flag flying the wrong way (against the wind) The ship on the other badge is the better one.

That's fantastic, for those that don't get the eagle, it might have been a fad at the time, but that it links to Manchesters aviation history, is a suitable enough reason for having it. Also the fact that since it appeared, it secured our owner, the CFA (Has a thing about eagles) and was on the shirt for all the trophies that followed, for Christ sake I'm 42 years old been going since 89 and its given me moments I'll cherish for the rest of my life! Including a 1-6 hammering of the neighbours! It's definitely the recognisable element of the badge too, internationally. Gotta stay, for these reasons, step forwards not backwards me thinks!

Is anyone else going to the badge history lectures the Club are holding next in the next week or two?

You can get tickets here www.mcfc.co.uk/cityzens. They're being hosted by Gary James (Football historian) at the City Football Academy. Worth going just to see part of the CFA itself!

They're on the 28th October and Nov 4th!

There are 4 lectures altogether - well worth trying to get tickets. Thanks

I'm going to the last one. This subject bothers me more than it probably should!!

I like a lot of the Gav designs which are a modernisation of the old roundels. Would it matter if the colours were not fixed, i.e. we could use different colours on different coloured shirts for the best effect?
