Club Badge (merged)

TBH I've never really liked the Eagle/Phoneix/Sparrow badge. But what made it look worse, and what I and I expect a lot of other City fans didn't like or didn't get, and which was often ridiculed, was the 3 stars.

I'm more than happy that the new/next badge will be circular, and will feature symbols attributed to Manchester.

I dont even know where you are going with that, the badge has represented city(having been right on every shirt) during a period where we won lots of honors, had a welcome takeover, new facilities, global recognition etc You cant get around that no matter how you try and spin it.

The club wont change by changing the badge(is that what you are trying to say?) or go backwards but the eagle means something to some people. Everyone will get used to a new badge no matter what's on it... even if there's an eagle in that there circle. lol ;)
I don't see any sinificance to any badge. When I look back at our recent success I don't think of a great big fuck off Eagle on a shirt, I don't see why anyone would.

The club also wouldn't tamper with the badge if it was going to hinder and global recognition that they've worked hard for. An eagerness and acceptance to change it would indicate such.

I'm convinced they already have the new badge designed and it will closely resemble the other badges in the City group. This survey was just a way to convince us all that this is what we have asked for and they are simply giving us what we want.

The ridicule of the stars is a typical rag response. The people who get wound up by that are likely the same people that refuse to use the word massive in football conversation. It was made clear from the start that the stars were purely for decoration, just because other teams have or have since added stars to their badge to symbolise something it doesn't suddenly mean all stars on all badges have to symbolise something.

That wouldn't surprise me actually. I just want them to get it over with then and show us tbh.

That's probably because you don't like the eagle that you prefer not to think of it lol, many people will consider it very much part of this recent era when we look back. We aren't all alike... or we'd all want the eagle gone.

As for hindering success or generating more(I've never mentioned it as a problem tbh)... I think the reason for changing the badge is more about fitting into the CFG portfolio than anything else.

I am just pleased it's round and will hopefully sit better on the shirt
Just hope it's not too big and they try and get everything in it,less is more

League titles came in 36-37 and 67-68 pal all round badges the same exact badge now?

1936-37 we wore the Manchester COA (as I mentioned 67-68 we didn't wear a badge)

Yeah I saw that mate, thanks for clearing that up, to be honest I didn't pretend to know which badges were worn... I only looked at the gap between them and used some common sense. I knew it was unlikely but as it turns out, not a round badge in sight.

I wasn't against a round badge anyway, I just hoped they could keep the eagle as an element of the badge somehow.

Gary James has insisted he wouldn't have been involved if it wasn't a true consultation I've no reason to doubt him.
